Is it easy to add a bugnet to the RR? Is it a double layer or single?
The cotton mouth was 1-2ft away.

Yeah they book up so far in advance. We couldn't get a single night in the same tent Site since every morning we had to pack up everything, leave the park for the day, then come back at night unpack...
Stock seat, no brand name. It's covered is cotton so it gets soaked in the rain or dew and stays that way. Strange choice of seat cover material. I need to fashion a cover of sorts.
That's the best part of Florida.
Speaking of warmth the weather was amazing. The night time low was 74f and the daytime high was 79f. If I do a similar trip with the van I'll make a turtle dog stand to bring along.
Glad you guys liked it. Hopefully I'll have a Florida hammocking trip to post here in not too long.
Ok very little hammocking. I was camped in my van, it was very uncomfortable. I would have slept like a baby in my hammock but that was not to be in Long Key State Park...either way here are some...
Those screen rooms awesome. How do I get more info about camping there?
Called the park and a lady I spoke to said hammock camping was fine. Well what she said was "sure you can sleep in your truck if you want, we don't mind."
Yeah I'd call or email for sure before I head up.
Does anyone have any first hand knowledge as to whether hammock camping is allowed at the state park? I'm going to shoot them an email but I thought I'd check here first. I'm thinking of planning...
I hammocked at Kelly park campground, it's very nice and you can swim in the spring which cuts through the park.
Sorry just read the part about no campgrounds. I'd say your best bet then is the...
That's is such a great spot. That was the last place I hammock camped before I moved to SC. The top of 4th Street was my favorite spot for stealth camping. Back by the climbing areas.
Thanks for the tips. I might go ahead and order that book. I'll check and see if REI is selling it. I have a little Birthday gift cert burning a hole in my pocket.
Well I still have my house on Upper Greenlaw. I gotta come back and check on the tenant in the spring. Maybe we could hook up for an overnighter. Hopefully by then I'll be a more proficient hammock...
The hanging varies depending on the site so eventually I'll get two separate tarps that pack down better than my current walmart tarps. We currently have one bug net. It's a diffrerent brand but a...
I'm an avid hammock camper but I don't know what I'm doing. In the past years my hammock camping all took place in AZ in the summer. So I took my double nest and a sleeping bag. It wasn't cold at...
I did a similar trip a few months ago. You might see some spot you'd recognize.

Didn't see any deer. But we did have a cool raccoon visit our campsite. I woke up to a noise under my hammock. I looked down and right next to me a raccoon was methodically searching through the pine...
It was a fun trip. I also got to test out my top quilt which worked great. Next I need to get better at rigging up my hammock. In the past I camped with just the Hammock. Now that I need the rain fly...
We couldn't decide what to do with our Saturday morning. I said lets go camping. An hour later the dogs were at boarding and we had hit the road. Here are some pics.

Looking to test out some new camping gear. Are there any free camping areas in the national forest? Like hunting camps or anything like that.
I'll look there, thanks.
I'd like to try out an underqult and I'm on a serious budget. I'm looking to spend less than $100 shipped. If you have such a quilt please let me know here or via pm.
anyone..anyone..
I'll throw my name in the hat.
My golite top quilt arrived today. My plan is to go camping this weekend. I have a big agnes copper creek bag that I want to use as a temporary underquilt. How can I do this without doing anything...
I have't really thought much about underquilts yet. I still have my big agnes bag so I'm going to use that as an underquilt initially. I'll probably end up getting a summer weight as it's pretty mild...
Oh and in terms of getting my Sh$t togethter. I ordered a golite one season top quilt. It's rated for the 40s. Which would made it a 3 season quilt for down here in the low country.
Normally I'm with you, but this wasn't that kind of campground..it was like a small city of rvs that surrounded me. Not me cup of tea but I didn't really research it much before I hit the road. If I...
Do you have a pic of these binder clips?
Anyone hammock camp at Fort Clinch or tomoka? I'm planning another motorcycle trip and I'm thinking these will be my first two stops. In the past I hammock camped at salt springs, collier Seminole,...
I literally just placed the order for the one season long 5 minutes before I read this thread! Now I just gotta find an underquilt. I was just out bid on an eno ember.
Looking for a summer/three season top quilt. I live in South Carolina so it will be used in pretty mild weather.
Would you consider selling just the hammock?
I've hammock camped plenty of times it's just been kinda rat tag. I never really had all the parts at once to get me through a cool or rainy night. Most nights I was cold but comfortable or if it...

It's actually very comfortable. I usually ride my vstrom 650, but since I was going solo I thought it would be fun to take the scooter. It's 600cc so it makes plenty of power. The wind protection is...
This weekend I went on a motorcycle camping trip. I had just purchased tent camping gear for my wife and I. She tried hammocking but could never get comfortable and didn't mind tenting. So I...
Looking to get my first topquilt. I'm a big guy so a large size would be preferred.
I like the price. Is it roomy enough for a big guy? I'm 6ft 280. Also do you know it's packed size?
Ok, is that your recommendation for a top quilt?
I looking for affordable quilt recommendations. I plan on using it in my tent and hammock. I'm a big guy and sleeping bags make me feel claustrophobic. I thought big agnes bags would do the job but...
So here's the deal. My wife and I have decided to go on a weekend long camping trip next weekend to Asheville, NC. We currently have a pair of eno double nests, a set of slap straps, a set of whoopie...
That would be great if you could get the inside scoop!
Not at Gamble Rogers, there are no trees.
Thanks for the help everyone. I really appreciate it. Tomorrow I'll get over to lowes and hopefully build myself a hammock stand. I'm really looking forward to this as I camp a lot in Florida and the...
