You're not helping ;)
Great pics and great gear,
Didn't think I wanted an XLC.... Now I do
Didn't think I'd like the cover instead of the bug net...now I do
I didn't have hammock envy....now I do!
How do I talk...
Im imagining one of those little heaters that blows warm air.... one careless move and your store could look like a huge HG snow-globe! :D
Neither of my HG quilts have any residual smell, but my...
thanks to Humpback and Whatknot, yours are both in the post. Thanks to fvreede, I'll get the rest off to you ASAP.
I live on Anglesey but work throughout Gwynedd, Conwy and Denbighshire. Where are you based?
Hi fvreede, you have a PM.
Thanks fvreede, I'll let you know postage. PayPal would be fine.
N W Wales. There are a few of us in this part of the world.
I have just over 18m left (60'). I'd happily sell it for £15 including the PP fee, but you would have to cover the postage at cost if that's ok. A quick scan on google suggest it would...
I have some loops to make up tonight for Whatknot; I'll let you know what I've got left afterwards. Thanks for the interest.
Hi Whatnot, you have a PM.
I'm happy to split it. I'll PM you my details.
Not sure, sorry. I've ordered from Dutch many times and never had to pay customs charges. I got stung on this order though and had to pay £11gbp in fees and handling charges. Some you win....
No problem Craige, thanks for looking.
I have recently bought 100' of 7/64 Amsteel from Dutch, but I ordered the wrong colour for my needs (my mistake). It's not worth me sending it back for an exchange, so I'm wondering if any...
Way hey, I won!!!
Thank you very much Dutch & Eagle Eye. I'm looking forward to getting some whoopie hooks.
I'm in. Thanks Dutch.
The UK is set for a big fall of snow tonight (well by UK standards anyway). While our news channels are telling us to take cover and expect disruption, I couldnt help seeing this as a great...
I've just switched from a CRL over the top, to single tie-outs at each corner with Dutch flyz. I've only pitched it once like this, but it went up easy and tighter than the CRL method. I'll stick...
I'm glad they are showing an interest really. They've got there own hammocks, but they haven't got UQ's yet.
Thought I'd take my kids down to our local woods for a ride on their bikes whilst I kicked back in my hammock and incubator.
The kids had other ideas though and squatted in my hammock whilst I was...
These Dutchware threads always cost me money, I have successfully resisted Dutch clips.....until now! There's a set winging its way to me in the UK for the seriously low shipping cost of $3. Thanks...
I'll try to get a picture up this weekend.
Dutch's new quilt hangers/clips grabbed my attention as soon as they hit his site, but I wondered how they could be used with HG's two cord suspension system. Turns out that with a little thought...
I went with 2oz overstuff on my 0* incubator and I'm really pleased with how it lofts. Overstuff can also help stop loosing heat through the quilt if its windy/draughty.
My 20* burrow has a snap...
B&Q have rolls of it on sale in the uk. It's essentially just bubble wrap with aluminium foil on each side.
The WBBB ridge line is 7/64 amsteel as standard. Unless your really counting the grams, I would go for it. I often end up with a very tight RL on my BB.
Congratulations on your new gear. I have a WBBB 1.7 & Incubator. The new UQ suspension is really quite simple when you get over the two cord thing. The traditional suspension running...
I was thinking that too for my incubator. If the two cords don't fit, I was planning on larks heading a small loop of single shock cord onto the two UQ cords then onto the new DQH.
Can't say fairer than that. Consider them ordered :D
Edit: Order done, now waiting for the dispatch notice, then the launch of another great product! I am addicted to Dutchware.
"New stuff will always be launched just after your current order has been dispatched"
Thanks Mike, it's still a great deal even with international shipping.
I'll stick with the large I think.
That's great, thanks matmore.
I'll take a large please ( 44" chest - not sure how US and UK sizes compare). Thanks
I've been thinking of getting a HF flag for a while but can't see them in store any more. Does anyone have a spare or now if these will be available again soon?
Truly awful!!! You deserve a leaky tarp for that one
It sounds like your tarp eventually absorbed water which suggests it wasn't fully impregnated. The nylon fibres would wick water...
Thanks Dutch, I hadn't considered lengthening the line by moving the flyz. It would be more restrictive if fixed to the split ring. I'll make them up like you do.
Thanks just-bobby, that makes sense and is probably what Dutch supplies. the locked brummel fixed eye being larks headed to the split ring on the tarp whilst the flyz is threaded onto the line as...
I'm looking to swap my continuos tarp RL with a two piece system using lash it and flyz. From the limited information I can find, it seems that tarp flyz can be fixed directly to the split rings on...
Just a general bridge question; how do they compare to say a BB for side sleepers? I tend to sleep on my side but with one leg bent, pushing me slightly onto my stomach. I can manage this ok in the...
Thanks Deacon, I was sure it must happen to tarps other than those made from sil.
Hi Kodaking, does your Incubator have the new suspension system with both the primary suspension (thicker shock cord that runs through the long channels with a loop at each end) and secondary...
As pgibson has said, its nothing to worry about. Mine are also stretched more than this and yours will likely stretch more with use. It's just the braid opening up locally where the inner passes...
I agree with Brandon, I really don't think it was moisture coming through the tarp. I've had it out in plenty of the UK's finest rain this summer ( we've had a lot:() for a few hours at a time,...
Thanks DuctTape, being so close to the tarp wouldn't have helped.
HappyCamper - why was it too early? I would have thought that a temperature difference and a humidity difference within the tarp...
No nice scientific evidence here I'm afraid, but a few thoughts based on my own experience.
Nights in the piney woods have been in very short supply recently, so I've spent some time recently...
Thanks for the replies. I'd been thinking about the 2piece tarp RL set up; I hadn't seen a shock cord used in that situation.
I'm going to remove the RL shock cord and will take the guy line...
I have a superfly set-up with a continuos ridge line. The tarp is attached by two small s-biners to prussics on the RL. One of the s-biner to prussic connections has a short loop of shock cord in the...
Crimsonshadow has a BB and has just bought a Woodsman x. Hopefully he'll see your post and chime in. If not, drop him a PM, I'm sure he could answer your questions.
Thanks Dutch, I understand. I'll try some anyway and keep an eye on them.
