What are the max dimensions when this is set up?
Nice looking hammock.
Woo Hoo, Congrats Gregory!
Thanks for another opportunity, Dutch and Alana. The hammock I would build would be very much like grannypat's.
SL 11' NylonD and stuff sack in Deep Purple. Fronkey style bug net. Kevlar straps...
Looks great! How small do those stands get when broken down?
I was looking at one of these on Craigslist, but just could pull the trigger. Can you post a picture of it with your hammock attached? Maybe we can brainstorm a modification for it.
What an awesome community! Merry Christmas!
No pillow for me. Occasionally I'll use a small fleece throw under my head, but I don't feel like I need it.
I'd be careful using Zing-it. You might prefer dynaglide just to be safe.
Looks good, Mike. I love the HyperD fabric and the black certainly looks nice. What method did you use to gather the ends as it appears you used the W method on one end (left side in the picture)?
Has anyone noticed the new DIY section on the dutchwaregear website? Stairway to Heaven!

I like this design. Looks like I'll be breaking out the spicing gear tonight...
Thanks!

Gravity - did you pre-drill starter holes for the Spax screws?
On Dutch's website he suggest 200lbs as a weight limit on the 1.2 PolyD hammock.

I own a HyperD hammock and bought 4 PolyD hammocks for Christmas. I've not had a chance to try the PolyD,...
Chris, that's a very nice looking hammock!
Nice work, Porkchop! Looking forward to hearing about some field testing on these.
Here's another option. Start by cutting out a 44" x 60" underquilt first. Then cut off at a 45* angle the funny shape at the end.

Take the small piece and flip it over so the 45*...
This is an interesting question. If you are willing to sew together a few odd size pieces I think you can make this work. Here are my rough approximations at how this would work.
Assuming you...
Walmart sells them. I think you could also find one on the Dutchware.com site.
Nice underquilt. What's that thing on your wall?!
drifter - this looks like a fun time and I'd love to attend, but I've got family in town for the holidays. Keep us posted on how this turns out. I might like to attend the 2nd annual one!
I know the feeling. One day after ordering four new polyD hammocks as gifts he comes out with this new fabric. Now I am dying to know how this material feels. Guess I am going to have to pony up...
Does it seem as though the frequency which you are ordering is increasing? I am wondering if there is a scientific explanation for this phenomenon.
I do the same thing as grannypat, the only difference is that I use a cheap 50"x60" fleece throw folded up. In a pinch I can use it as an extra layer to keep warm.
Woo Hoo! Great job. Now attach that to the end of your hammock (or tarp - I can't tell if that is amsteel or lashit) and get hanging!
You could try doing something like this with a few layers.

Another fun video. Thanks for sharing!
Wow, very nice work on this! I'll be first to sign up on your Christmas list!

Nice looking set up. Did you sew the quilts together as described on the DIY web site (APEX, inside fabric, outside fabric - pull inside out)?
I'm in! Thanks for doing this!
We love to see pictures of new gear!
I picked up a few of these for Christmas gifts. Here are some pictures so y'all can see the colors.

Deep Purple:...
I have to agree. This is an excellent example of customer service.
Very nice work there.
I've definitely seen some fraying with my amsteel, both with the anchors and the speedhooks. This weekend I plan to take a file and make sure they are completely deburred and I might even take my...
Nice report, Nodust. Keep me posted if you ever want a partner on a hike.

Nice job. I am going to have to give this a try.
Congratulations Megss!
Wow, those look great. Makes me very excited about my order that's on the way.
I am not sure if this is the appropriate place to ask this, but how did you do your footbox? That looks like a...
Exactly. They are probably very swamped right now. This is the second time I've had a Dutch order get stuck somewhere. This time is funny considering my package supposedly arrived from Lancaster to...
Well, my package is still lost in Philly. It got there on Tuesday early and was supposed to be delivered yesterday. It appears to have entered the ether.
Same thing here. My Dutchware order has been sitting in Philly since 1am on the 2nd.
Looks awesome!
I am about to do this set up in my guest bedroom, but was wondering about these pictures. It seems to me that these d-rings would start to bite into the sheetrock, but your pictures do not show...
Thanks for the trip report. I need to add this to list of potential hikes!
Thanks again,
RedStix
Boy, that 36" is just a little bit smaller than I'd want to use for an UQ, but you could give it a shot (it might work well for one of your boys). I'd pick up 2 yards of ripstop (maybe just a little...
Thanks for sharing your pictures. That is a really cool looking hammock.
That looks awesome! Great work
Lookin good, gunner! Nice report.
One day I'll have to get myself something like that!

I am re-reading this and would highly recommend that you reconsider your DIY hyperD hammock length. I started out with a GTUL and it was advertised at 9.5' long. I used if for 5 months and it wasn't...
