LOVE my dream hammock!
Had a great time! Was great meeting everyone. Can't wait to do it again.
I can't wait to enjoy the outdoors. I am going to make green beans. (I am already included in boy_scout's count) Who doesn't wan't beans with their chicken?
Nice seasonal decorations!
I switch from a 10x10 bcusa (which i still love) to a mamajamba. It doesn't have near the coverage but I don't seem to miss it. I love the weight savings. the mamajamba weighs about 15 oz compared...
Thanks! I should have my new tarp tomorrow.
I also ordered a mamajamba, does it make sense to seal those pullouts with them staked out, or just stake the 4 tarp corners and then seal them?
I use a pen and a piece of craft wire
Love the new wasp! I will have one on my next order.
This exactly! I spray mine down and have not had any issue even when mosquitoes were abundant.
Welcome to the forum! My advice would be to go ahead and splurge on the expensive underquilt. You are going to wind up buying it anyway.
I love the thermacell! it is amazing, as long as it's not really windy.
i don't drink anything in the hammock unless i am using it as a seat.
I have sprayed mine before but I have a single layer. I don't spray it each time because that means I have to unpack it.
Never thought of that! That's a great idea. I got a HG underquilt and I had to modify the suspension to get it to fit properly with this hammock. did you have any issues with your underquilt?
congrats on the house. It's really nice to stake a claim. Looks like a lot of green in the yard. should be a nice view from the hammock.
It was a great starter hammock for me. No matter what I do I can't seem to keep the bugnet out of my face. I have ordered a dream hammock so my moskito will be retired.
how about a sling...
I use a sweatshirt stuffed up in the top of my hammock. it helps to keep the bug net out of my face. I'm going to have to pick up a dream hammock SOON.
I have mine stored with the top of the plastic bag open in the basement. The temp doesn't really fluctuate much at all down there. Are they OK in plastic in this case?
does anyone know the material that Dutch uses on his tree straps? his site says 1500lbs.
I have mine stored in a draw string kitchen bag.
So do those linelocs 3 work with lash it? it says 1.5 to 2.25 but zing it is really slippery.
what do you hook the tarp to?
checkout the tarps at bushcraft outfitters. I have a 10x10 and it's a great multipurpose tarp.
congrats! You'll want to get a home equity line of credit next.
That looks really cool! Not sure how I missed that one.
I have not heard of airbeam. what is that?
the best thing to do is to work a lot of overtime. you won't have time to do any shopping.
I get the 10% solution at tractor supply. I dilute 20oz water and 1oz of permethrin. I spray all my clothes/gear down a few days before i leave. I started this last spring and have not had a tick...
im all mixed up. including some DIY.
I occasionally have lower back pain. I've not had any problems sleeping in my hammock.
COOL! Much better than the occasional raccoon or possum.
my normal camping spot is 22' apart. I put my straps almost as high as I can reach.
I use whoopies btw. If i had adjustable webbing i'd switch to the clips.
I don't use any. I feed the strap through each time.
right now i'd buy a paddle for my kayak... but that's not really hammock related. I'd prob pick up a nice pair of convertible pants.
Nice. I'm thinking about a sit on top kayak. How do you like yours?
what is the lead time? I need mine in multicam.
I just try to change quickly and not worry a lot about who is looking. That said I mostly camp in heavy woods with not a lot of people around. If i am in a crowded campground I just try to stand...
Treat all your clothes and gear with permethrin spray. I swear by this stuff.
I like to pack everything separate. I guess my CDO kicks in and I want everything in it's own bag/pouch, no matter how much extra time i have to spend setting up or taking down.
I lay with my head to the left. I think it had something to do with the zipper being on the right and I wanted more fabric on the zipper side to make it easier to access.
I use a standard 10x10 BCUSA tarp with my hammock. I like it a lot.
I always carry a military poncho to throw over my stuff. I use that.
I have not had any cold weather nights in my hammock. When tent camping in colder weather I always had moisture on the inside of my tent.
I agree with what swinginit posted.
Ya, I do enjoy knot tying.
I use it for the ridge line of my tarp and my tarp is always sagging by morning. I do tie my bugnet to it. It works, just not as well as zing it.
I use my flannel shirt or sweat shirt. I don't have a stuff sack for it. I am considering getting one of the travel pillows. I just hate adding more weight to my super heavy pack.
I use paracord because it's what I have, but the next morning I always have to tighten the ridge line due to it stretching. I plan to get some dutchware and zing it soon.
