I have the same tarp. I only use the side pull-outs in windy conditions. I'd say there's enough wind to warrant using them somewhere between 10% and 20% of the nights I spend on the trail. So it's...

I've been using Kevlar straps from Dutch along with Dutch Buckles all season, so somewhere between 15 and 20 nights. I've not experienced any slippage of the buckles on the Kevlar straps.

On the first day of a section hike, I stopped for the day at Frye Notch Lean-to in western Maine on July 10. A north-bound hiker was continuing on, and someone yelled from the shelter "see you later...
