i have been thinking real hard on putting this together
what would be the maximum weight something like this would hold?
I run a separate line for my tarp. I like the extra "ceiling" room. And I can also set up and take down under the tarp.
As for right or wrong, the only wrong thing is not using your hammock...
I havent had any kind of ankle injury and I have experienced the same thing. (I have a Deep Jungle and am 5-9")
I am currently working on adjustments but have also been looking pretty closely at...
Thanks for the link. I have have been chewing through them in my free time.
I had the same idea and followed several of the historical posts pro and con. I ordered a box of wool blankets from sportsmans guide(i need to read the fine print as they were only 30%wool) I tried...
enjoyed it...Glad i could almost "be" there.
or you reply "depends on the suspension"

while you are hanging in the banana watch for anyone with whip cream or chocolate syrup...
Cuss all you want in the woods. They are just words and Welcome to the group.(no cussin here)
nice video -- looked like a good time.
yeah thanks for the update -- you got another "follower"
Congrats -- 10 minutes in the hh exped was enough to convince me.
although I had to go with the DJ...weight issue, sniff...
my uncle always told me it will reabsorb if you "hold it" long enough.
I agree. Plus I think the zip is the way to go.
Wow that looks exactly like a place I stayed at a couple of weeks ago. I agree with the ice out as early as it is, fishing seems like the thing to do.
I like to think of it as an "inflation-beating" investment.
My uncle said you are suppose to spend all the money you have anyway.
my thoughts too.
oh I wish I knew about hammock camping several years ago. I like to analyze and evaluate what I need and I find the best place to do that is in my hammock.
So how did it go?
After the 4th time setting up the hammock, I can see the benefits of the adjustable whoopie sling. I just have to get a pair.
wait that last sentences just sounds wrong.
I think the easiest way is to attach it to the suspension line for the hammock.
I decided I like a bit more head room so I tie mine separately either to some tree straps if the distance between...
^ what he said -- but from minnesota instead.
Thanks for coming out of the Lurk and into the comfort.
hola bienvenidos de minnesota norte
no recuerda la palabra "from"...desde?
thats what a year of spanish stuck with me from 20 years ago.
Post some trip reports from Ireland/Scotland. I have read that Scotland has no trespassing laws so "stealth" is not an issue. I am curious how it works and, well, I like the trip reports.
Becareful with the Shug character. You wont wait for the snow to melt after watching a couple of his videos.
Sound logic there. Rock on.
Shug är övertygande om att vintercamping
or something like that.
hello from northern minnesota.
Welcome from N MN maybe i will see you on the trail. You shoot it and i will eat ut.
Ha Togo. I got an interesting story about Togo. Maybe its only interesting if you have been there.
welcome from minnesota.
Hello from Minnesota.
Get comfortable you will be here awhile. There is a lot to soak in. And then you can enjoy the happy reflection in a your hammock.
my uncle always said "We gotta do something, even if it's wrong".
Great first start. I admire the tenacity as well, and its great to learn! (cause knowledge is power)
maybe rename "hammock" to a "shug sleeping sling"
Watch a few of Shugs videos and it will convince you you dont need the weather to be warm to use the hammock and all the comforts therein.
great trip report. I definitely need to check out getting a drill like that to make a stool.
thanks for the report. i enjoy hearing about the "learning" experiences so I dont have to repeat them myself.
I like the view from the ledge.
yes, that was an exciting yarn.
Thank you.
Welcome, just got here myself. There is a lot of information/experience here.
Yeah Brrr-midji is a nice town. I actually grew up in so mn( town called Olivia). Relocated to the range because of a former employer and now just trying to enjoy it.

Oh i definitely have my Shug "card" punched. He is responsible for the winter camping ideas...I was only thinking 40* or so.
Darn youtube!
I will be moving to Fronkeys as well.
I am unique just like every one else and not keen on spending gobs of money on stuff that may not work. After my experience last night and with the "warm" comments made about underquilts -- well its...
It could be said that " the range" and minnesota are two different places.
The guy who first exposed me to his hammock was down by Forbes cutting a hiking path along the st louis river. I couldnt...
Hey everybody!
I just got my hennessy and tried it out last night. Even though I wasnt really prepared to spend the night in the 10* cold I figured I would use what I had and try it out^. Living...
