Cant wait to get home from work to watch the video.
You only need the 50 posts to sell. Buy it up!
Would a few loose stitches thru the outer layer of your hammock and the foam be enough to hold it in place? Maybe each corner and the center....based on where it needs to be.
Interesting idea. Have a superfly but really only need "doors" at one end most of the time. Wear a kilt when walking so a rain kilt makes sense. Will be following this.
Considering a 40° for my wife. Can one be had with a bugnet?
Good luck man. Voted daily.
It is a Canadian Military Bell tent. I believe an 8 or 10 man.
Will do. Thanks man.
Hey all I am wanting to get my hands on a couple 12 cm Imusa pots. They are not available in my area in Ontario so thought I would put some feelers out here.
Vote cast...good luck man!
Sounds like an awesome trip. I would love to join you but have already booked up most of my vacation time for this year. Looking forward to the report.
I will be sure to take pictures along the way. And of course ones of the maiden voyage.
Just out of curiosity which fabric would be better as a sail on a small 7' x 4' sailboat nylon or polyd? Just placed an order for 5 yards of yellow polyd (he wants a bright sail) hoping it is fairly...
Ya Bubba. Apparently I had let my Donating membership lapse, all good now.
Can everyone that was interested in a squirrel cooker PM me. I have talked to the maker and have a group buy price.
Hope Chard is ok and life just got in the way of posting his report.
Thanks Dutch...me too.
I cannot pass up this chance, and being in Canada if I am lucky enough to be chosen I will be happy to help cover the shipping cost.
My design will be a Karo Step 3 season top quilt with a...
Bill are we possibly seeing another argument in favor of vapour barriers? Your theory fits right in with me pushing a 0*f quilt way past its rating (-33*c) on the third night of a trip with no...
Just wondered as I will be ordering some stuff from Dutch this week and would be happy to forward on to whereever.
Welcome to the madness.
Do you have to pay the VAT/duties/taxes if a person sent you a gift rather than a business shipping a product?
Ouch...gonna sleep well saturday then huh. I wont make any promises about meeting you, but you never know. See everyone soon.
What time are you Saturday guys planning to arrive? I might be looking to stretch my legs for a bit and will meet you at the parkinglot.
Personally I just pick 2 trees that look sturdy, set up and relax. I dont tend to worry about all the what mights. Just relax and enjoy the time in the woods, deal with problems when they happen.
So I made some inquiries and it is a no go on a snowmobile, looks like we are pulling boys.
Just wondering if it would be possible to meet at the Tim Hortons at 9 am instead of at 8?
Were/are you serious about a snowmobile? I can make inquiries tomorow if you are...wont have trail permit tho.
Group gear...i will bring my big kettle and tripod.
I am curious. Why are you changing hammocks. If you were comfortable and slept good in the one you have why not just us it? As far as a tarp i really like my superfly, the doors are worth the extra...
Not in as shipping to Canada would be BAD but wanted to say good on ya man. Very generous.
Its to bad i would love to try my hand at an insulated hammock alla bonefire or sheltowee.
Location sounds good for a meet up but not sure we will make it by 8am. Google says 3 1/2 hrs from my house. Might have to just find you all in the bush.
I am starting to get gear organised and...
I am with Bubba on the breaking trail. Since i left chickens i am not in as good of shape!
I have done this a bunch of times with my wife and with my daughter. Just used stoutish sticks as spreaders, no issues. You do feel if they really flopp but have always slept just fine.
All i did...
I only have experience with the warbonnet buckles and find they can be tricky to lossen. They are the ones in the lefthand picture of Passinthrus post.
Bonnet I have an extra sled already to go. Just let me know a few days ahead and i will bring it. It is a Paris Expedition from homehardware,
My buddy Mark is coming as well.
Keg, I am more than happy to wonder back out to the cars on Saturday to meet up with you. I also have an extra Paris expedition sled and 0* 3/4 length UQ if needed.
Just to be clear, this is gonna happen on the February 20th weekend right? Not sure i can change my vacation time again. We are good with anywhere. We will be arriving Friday and staying till Monday.
Need to repeat foot end higher then head. For me it close to 8" higher. And i like my ridgeline pretty tight also.
$35 to Ontario? For everything. I will take it.
So have talked to my buddy, and changed my vacation time at work. We will be attending. I can bring my BIG kettle and tripod if it is needed. Also have an extra tarp and a 0* underquilt i can bring.
Granddaughter is coming for the night now. Have fun.
I have a question regarding Kawartha Highlands Signature Site. Are you allowed to ice fish? I was just reading last years trip report and Chard mentions bringing his gear if he ever returns to that...
I am on afternoons so unless the wheels fall off we will be a Saturday midday arrival.
I love mine. And will not sell it but just an fyi they are worth the price if you end up getting one new!
I can one out tomorow and measure it if you still need the dimensions. If you are looking to get one pm me.
I hung the 20* as if my foot end was the head end and then hung my 0* normally with it overlapping the 20. Both are partial length. Seemed to work out ok.
