I use a 13 foot hammock under a 12 foot tarp never had a problem
Best way to use wooly blanket is to fold and place between layers in a double layer hammock. You get the warmth but no scratch or itch. I think it stays put better also than laying directly on it....
My wife and I camp in a diy double layer with the 13 foot table cloth factory blank. 13 x 9 I think.107613
I'm going to try to be there. My daughter is playing in the accac state tournament this weekend and not sure of the schedule yet. I may be in and out.

I'm searching for a pic but I put some hooks on mine to hang stuff from including a little pouch.
I use a diy double layer 13 foot from tf.com I'm about 300 and my wife is about just right and we sleep in it together. No issues in 2 years. 105122
I made one using the diy supply plans. Be aware that the doors on that do not fit all the way together on the ends. I have no idea why that is. Maybe I don't have it set up correctly but mine don't...
It's the largest size tcf has in the crinkle taffeta
Hi there. I'm 6'6" 275 and my wife is about 5'6" and just right. We sleep together in my diy double layer from tableclothfactory. It's the 13 x 8 I think. I'll try to post some pics. It took a few...
On the bama fla line past couple nights. Diy double layer with wool blanket between layers. Diy underquilt and top quilt. Down throw wrapped around the foot end and wool blanket over the ridge line...
Great looking set up. The hight of your tarp doesn't worry me at all but I would be afraid of a couple of those little trees your hanging on. Lol. I love porch mode wide open also.
I made mine with sewn on grosgrain loops and shock cord in the seam. The beast has quad knotty mods and I love em.
It took a little practice to get situated but once you get the hang of it its pretty neat. family forum so no details but you would be suprised what all you can do in there. lol
Your math is pretty close. Here are pics. My hammock Ridgeline is about 10'8" the tarp measures 12'4" . Maybe I'm just not setting it up correctly.
Im in alabama also so I dont usually have to deal with super cold temps. I do have a diy down underquilt but if its freezing or so I double my wool blanket and put it between my double layers of the...
Ill try to set it up today and make some pics of it in action. Maybe Im not understanding how much actual "coverage" I should have.
well kind of a long story but I didnt choose the tarp. I got the fabric for 1.00 a yard to learn with and turned out it was very waterproof so I made my first diy tarp. I used all the fabric I had...
its the largest size tablecloth factory sells. 92 x 156 I think. Im 6'6'' and 275 and my wife and I sleep in it together. laugh if you want but its comfy.
My hammock is 13 feet. the tarp is right at 12. Im not 100% sure on the srl but I know I do use one. When its all set up the tarp just barely covers the hammock. no biggie until I get a blowing type...
I have my first DIY tarp from the mystery fabric from the mart. works great but its just not long enough for my hammock. What would be the best way to add length to it. since it has doors Im...
I do this with my wool blanket. The sides just tuck between the hammock and underquilt.
Lady says "hey there is lots more room in here"
I have a singer 301 which I really like but I couldn't pass on this old pfaff. Thrift store find. Looks to be in good shape..
could someone please repost the pics for this project
We use a 90 X 152 dl from tablecloth factory. I'm 6'6" and 295 and wife is 5'5" and just right. Together we are more than your friend. No issues. He will love it. Pics attached. Quad knotty mods.
I got the idea from your previous post on the subject
The way to take the floppy out of the sides is with knotty mods. I over did it and went quad knotty mods on mine.8733087331
I got the idea from the mini spreader bar thread here. I used a 12" all threads with couplers and eye bolts then the flat piece like goes on a u bolt. We like it. As far as weight heck I'm 6'6" and...
I have a double layer 90 X 156 with quad knotty mods and recently added u spreaders on each end. Wife and I sleep in it together. Love it.
Im curious about how the curved clew worked and how would you attach it to a gathered end hammock or channel end hammock upon completion.
I tried this with a 12" piece of all threads with eye hooks added on the ends but when weight was applied it pulled the ends together and made it a really skinny U. Some help but not what I had hoped.
The knotty mods are 24 inches. I came 24 from the end then as a starting point then another 24. The center is left open for inserting pad or somthing if needed.
What business has anyone got peeping under your tarp anyway. Even in porch mode. Lol. I stand on the "back" side of my hammock and look to be sure no young children are directly in site and change...
I don't understand what you mean by less stretchy seam? On the tcf 90 X 156 I didn't add on anything to the width. It has quad knotty mods.
Pics 85506 I would add that you might want to pack a second top quilt seems like wives tend to claim the whole thing if it gets a little cool. Throw her in ax extra pair of good warm socks.
Wife and I have slept together in my dl table cloth 90 x 156 the past two weekends. Im a big ole boy at 6'6'' 275 and wife is 5'6'' just right. We had laid around in it in the yard and it was ok so...
Cool I love the 226 in 9mm. I also have a 228 in 9mm. All old school west German but I always reach for the 220 in 45 first it's like my blanket I guess
Another of same spot
There are so many spots in and around sipsey that look like that it's hard to say. Also different people give them different names. Here is one of my favorites.when you catch it just right the...
good work and a neat idea. Gotta give that a try. Thanks
Mine is my same as on the sig forum. The 45 sig p 220 that is my edc. Then there are the hidden politically incorrect interpretations that I can't talk about on family type forums. Lol:D
I modded an army bug net turned it upside down added grosgrain channels and shock cord. Turned out ok
I think there were 25 or more here last night. Great considering the weather yesterday morning. Several more have come in today. Very nice. I'm enjoying my first group hang.
Looks like I will be able to make it. Headed that way now
