Here ya are! It does close with the doors at the end.

I am selling my standard Speer Winter Tarp, no modifications or add-ons for $120 shipped CONTUS. The tarp is pristine and largely unused condition.
It has never been used overnight. It has...
I haven't been around much since this year has been more about hunting. Ed Speer is out of the hammock business? Granted his selection is smaller.
How and when did this go down?
Glad I got my...
I found what looks like 1.1 wally world fabric. I got enough fabric to make a double layer for $10. Get some chainlinks from Opie or Arrowhead for about another $10 and sew a channel in it for the...
You can use a synthetic bag. The only reason I got a down bag was because I got a good deal on it and it compresses better than synthetic.
As long as you don't mind having no room to move around...
If you were getting a BA sleeping bag because of the sleve, I'd skip it and find something that is cheaper but accomplishes the same thing. A poncho liner UQ will work but I can't say how warm it...
Look in to the Speer Segment Pad Extender for the cold shoulders. It's very cheap and lightweight. You can even make your own if you can sew a couple of straight lines. That's how I did mine. It...
That's a good start. As we all started out as newbies, we slowly learn what works and what doesn't work for the way we do things. Over time you'll learn your own likes and dislikes. You learn how...
Definitely thanks for the heads up, Paul. I'll keep my eyes on it. Let us know how it pans out. Can't wait.
That's what I was hoping and figuring. Thanks for confirming that.
I wonder if they're just removed from the listing because they are out of stock, and not no longer available.

I've been thinking about changing my suspension system to cinch buckles and straps from Arrowhead. I just went by the site and I can't find the buckles listed anymore. Are they not being carried...
Well have to put you up for canonization, Opie (minus having to be dead part).....Saint Opie.
Always entertaining and informative at the same time, Shug.
I'm glad you brought this material up, Randy. My wife just made an insulated lunch tote using insul-bright a week ago. I was looking at this stuff and wondered if anyone had tried to use it for...
Opie,
To help make everything even, can you change my Grey 2.2 from 50' to 100'?
Ray Mears out of the UK. He doesn't do a series like Les (I don't even count Bear Grylls as bushcraft. He's more like Fear Factor.) Ray usually does a mini series of 6 episodes. He's got his...
I just recently made a snakeskin for my SWT out of sheer fabric. I made them each 6' long and 13" in diameter and they seem to work well.
Ray is awesome. Over a period of time, I've been able to collect everything he's broadcast (including Northern Wilderness). After a long bad day, I usually like to retreat in to his stuff for a...
I meant the stress on the stitching of the tarp has more stress by not using a ridgeline since that 25# of force is on the ridgeline rope instead of tarp stiching.
Opie,
Thanks for this. I was thinking of this exact same thing last. I'd be interested in 50' grey 2.2 and 100' red 1.75. But I'm flexible on color. Who's going to see them besides the birds...
Using a ridgeline also puts less stress on the tarp.
What size are you planning on? 1.75mm or 2.2mm?
I'm planning to make a small tarp out of mine. Being 9' wide allows for no seams. I officially suck at sewing therefore construction is more my speed and this does it one better since I don't even...
Looking good. It's better looking than my first DIY hammock.
I like the pics. Makes me almost miss the days in GA at Benning and Stewart.....almost.
What's everyone using for their over the tarp ridgeline rope when they use prussiks? I've been seeing several people using Dynaglide but shouldn't the rope your putting a prussik on be larger than...
Not quite. The Tyvek you get from Arrowhead is 3 feet wide. This Tyvek that Shadowmoss is getting is 9 feet wide.
If you find out that it's 8' or bigger, I'll give it a go.
That's what I figured. Headchange made his Tyvek articles and the dismal job that dye does to it. One could always hope...
Has anyone successfully been able to dye tyvek yet? I've seen some less than desirable results of dying it. That's what will make or break tyvek for me.
Spidennis,
You didn't use any other kind of underinsulation with it? Just the wool blanket? Very cool.
Tom,
A tarp? That's one I had never thought of.
Several people around here use Peapods and most people like them. I'd get one as well except for the reason you bring up, cost. Instead, I use a down sleeping bag along the same lines as a Peapod. ...
Since you having sewing abilities, try looking at Speer Hammocks (speerhammocks.com). They sell already manufactured hammocks but they also sell hammock and tarp kits so you can build your own. If...
There are many different ways to hang your tarp. I do my tarp completely independent from my hammock's suspension system. I either tie each end of the ridgeline tie outs to the tree using Figure...
I'm siding with a version of Grizz's alpine butterfly suspension. When I first started out on this hanging thing, my SB Pro came with cord doubled on itself with figure 8's tied in to it every 6...
I hope that guy never needs to get up and moving fast wrapped up like that. He's wrapped up in there better than a burrito.
Glad to provide some use for a fellow Scot.
I wonder if the rubber shelving or antiskid rubber you put on the bottom side of rugs on tile or hardwood floors would help keep it from slipping.
Granted, you wouldn't want it for a long haul trek due to its weight but has anyone tried a wool blanket as bottom insulation in the same fashion you would lay on a pad? Or if you have some ability,...
If that's 15 inches x 9 inches, that will be plenty big! What do you want for it?
Thanks for the offers fellas.
I recently bought a SWT and want to add a ridgeline center tieout and a few others. I have the webbing but need some sharkskin grey silnylon to reinforce the add-on tieouts.
I don't have the...
I have a Wave and I use it almost daily. I don't know what I'd do without it. I used to take it out in to the bush with me. That's until it fell out of my pouch and dropped a deuce in my shorts...
Another couple of possible locations for it is Pate Hollow which is on the north side of Lake Monroe and a part of the Hoosier National Forest. ...
My will power was too weak. I had my wife order Ed's Winter Tarp over the weekend for Christmas-ish for me.
Ed was awesome on the turnaround time between order and shipping!
Consider getting a Speer SPE. If you're not familiar with them it's an easy, cheap, and very light weight way to be able to extend the width of the CCF pad up the side of the hammock so your arms...
For all you lightweight tarp makers, have any you tried the lightest weight Spinnaker? Everywhere that I've looked I've only seen people use the .75 oz fabric. However, knowing that Spinnaker is...
I've been a big fan of Ray Mears and bushcraft for a couple of years now. The interest in bushcraft is what led me to here. I would inquire to if you were getting rid of anything bushcraft related...
As an owner of a Grand Trunk SB Pro and UL, I'm surprised that they didn't come with the suspension rope. I'd contact Grand Trunk and inquire about it.
As for hanging it, Grand Trunk usually...
Those are awesome looking. Makes me think of going to ground just for an excuse to play with one.
