Yeah, that's why I went for the Atlas straps to begin with. I know there are many DIYers here who scoff at spending the $ for ENO straps...but I didn't mind. There are many things I already do...
I may get a singlenest as well in addition to the double I just ordered. It seems the single would be ideal for beach like environments where you really want to be exposed to the sun & elements and...
I'm 6'4" tall and 230lbs. My shoulders are really wide. So I went for the DoubleNest for that reason. Should be arriving in a few days. Will post my opinion after.
Actually amazon doesn't sell the atlas straps at a discount.
Again, most on the 2nd link were out of stock, and the two that were available - weren't in the colors I wanted. Plus they were the same price as if I just ordered the color I wanted from ENO, so...
Thanks, I appreciate the effort to post the Amazon links...but if you actually click on the double nest size...it says "out of stock" for every color option.
I ended up ordering it directly thru...
I just ordered the ENO Atlas Straps. But for some reason, all the 2013 Eno Doublenest hammocks are sold out. I've checked Amazon, REI and EMS.
Hmm. The hole was in the foot end? Makes sense. This area takes the most abuse with frequent foot movement. If a hole was in that area, it'd be prone to lots of rubbing which would further compromise...
Not to dispute the OP...but he said the Eno hammock in question was 2 yrs old. I think if it were truly defective, it would have ripped much sooner. No. My suspicion is that the OP poked a hole in...
I must be crazy Too, cause I'm trying to figure out a way to hang mine in my room as well.
Get the DN. you won't be disappointed. Also, unlike some here, I really like the Eno Atlas straps. They don't stretch and are very adjustable. You can always modify later. Personally I think as a...
I got me a wired chic too. But that's why we love em'. ;-)
Anyway, length aside, all three of these hammocks seem pretty similar. The ENO is 9'4" long and the others are about a foot longer. With...
Too short? That's odd, cause I'm 6'4" tall and the Eno seems plenty long enough for me.
Actually I decided on the ENO after comparing it to other top brands and finding the ENO to be the most reasonably priced.
Good posts all. Food for thought. Heh heh heh.
Me & my brightly colored hammock gonna hit the trail in a couple months. Cant wait. Getting excited. Want to do the white mountains, but will...
Personally, i don't wear bright cheery colors(hey I live in NYC & black is considered bright lol)... but I would say I am a cheery fellow. :-)
I totally agree about being able to find equipment...
lol. Oh, and here I was thinking ENO stood for Eat NO Outdoorsman. My bad.
I know it was a silly question. I just wanted to break the ice since it was my first post. I Honestly am not worried bout...
I am new to hammock camping, and just bought an ENO hammock. It's a very brightly colored one, and I was wondering if bears are more attracted to brighter colors or if that's a myth? I'm not paranoid...
Cool. Yes, I've seen the Shug vids. Funny yet informative dude. I'm still gonna stick with the ENO Atlas straps for now since I'm new to hammock camping. I want to experience for myself and then...
Speaking of replacing ENO slap or atlas straps and using webbing with Marlin spike.... I've heard that sometimes the whoopie sling can slip off the Marlin spike sending the hammock & person crashing...
Thanks for the welcome Path. Yeah, I do look forward to adding a structural ridge line & possibly other mods as I get some trips under my belt this Spring & figure out what works best for me. Until...
Thanks Monk. Will do. Seems like the DN was a lot of people's first hammock here. What hammock you using now? Have you converted totally to hammocks? Or do you still tent it every once in awhile?...
Hey everybody. Long time lurker of hammockforums, first time poster. I've always loved hammocks. Practically lived in one on my friends porch in Brazil for 6 months.
But just got my first hammock...
