Tarp lines IMHO should not be removed from the tarp. They are part of the tarp, in fact should be built into the tarp. So packing tarp lines is just a part of packing the tarp.

I have a rule about suspending myself from cordage (well, several rules, but one in particular that seems to fit here.) If the specs say something like

'Weight Rating: 1,000lbs'

instead of...

If you think that's cool, you should check out the icicle hitch. It's kinda the same but better. It will work even if the post is tapered.

A proper tarp/collection system will take care of most if not all of your water needs, regardless of rain.

Like a good boat, a good hammock is symmetrical, the same on both ends, so it doesn't matter.

That said, I have a diy storage bag that has a hole on one end just big enough for the suspension line...

If the only thing one considers when comparing two hammocks is size, bigger is better.

Like a good boat, a decent hammock in the hands of a reasonably competent individual simply won't fail.
