@Tosh
I don’t know exactly how humid it’s been, but I am in Florida… In the cooler months it’s a bit better, of course, but it’s relative. To tell you the truth, I don’t think the down gets wet at...
First follow up:
I've been out a couple of nights w/o shelter, but the temps still were only in the mid 40's. It's Florida, after all. I have to say, I love this quilt more each time I use it. With...
I've made myself an underquilt that's about 2/3 20*. I like it pretty well. For me it's about light and small packing. I don't mind putting a jacket that I'm carrying anyway under my legs.
I think when it comes time to clean this one, I'll just use a damp cloth. Maybe a little soap on the cloth if needed. I won't put it in the wash, that's for sure!
So far, I've only paired it with...

I've added a few shots of my Epiphany hanging under my HH. I put a couple of backpacks in my hammock... that helped, but it doesn't fill it out quite like I do, of course.
Also, I spent...
I should also share that I heard from Tim on the size discrepancy that I originally noted. It seems that I may have accidently received a 5’6” version. I’m not hung up on the mistake; it happens.

Sidwinder:
The temps I expect to use this in are from the mid-teens to the mid 50's. Above that I'm not sure I could be comfortable. I really do think it's flexible enough to work throughout that...
This is my initial review of the Enlightened Equipment Epiphany Top Quilt
I just got my EE Epiphany top quilt in a couple of weeks ago.
First, I have to say it was a pleasure doing business...
I just got an Epiphany from Enlightened Equipment. I love it. 20 degree pluse VBL (mine is cuben). 1 lbs, packs reasonably well. I don't stuff it as tight as I could... It's the .33 oz veriety, so I...
My quilt is lighter than my bag, but I wouldn't say it's changed my hike. What it has changed is my sleeping. That's improved because I can move now... I'm more comfortable.
I've only just got a top quilt. Until now I've used my sleeping bag, mostly unzipped as a quilt. I have used a Hennessy Double Bubble reflective pad and/or the Hennessy Super Shelter under cover for...
My new top quilt weighs in at 491 grams. It's rated for 20 degrees, plus VBL good for another 10 to 15. I'm thrilled!
Thanks for the info! I have just finished a pattern for an under quilt and will be getting started on the actual project probably next weekend. This is great info to have!
@WV - I'm using .33 oz cuban for the baffels, so there will be some tape involved in connecting them. I need to check carefully to see if there will be any peeling forces. If I can avoid that, great....
I’m about to start a DIY UQ project. It’s going to be cuben fiber and filled with down. My initial thought was to put an M90 covered hole near the end of each baffle to allow lofting/packing, since...
@WetRiverRat - Have now, and it worked! Congratulations on a nice DIY project!
That’s a great link shug gave you. I started there, too, just about a week ago. I’ve ordered and received everything I need to make my UQ, but haven’t started cutting the fabric yet. As the article...
That is an absolutely impressive first effort! I’m getting started on my first project in the next week or two… this is inspiring!
I have a couple of older/less expensive synthetic bags that I store in their sacks. They're fine... but I wouldn't do it with down.
As mbiraman said above, I throw down bags in the dryer from time to time (on air fluff, no heat) to fluff them and dry them out. I’ve never had any trouble while I was out. My longest trips have only...
Spencer and I had a great time! Fantastic people, great food, out hanging… what else could I want? A special thanks to the crowd that went above and beyond to include Spencer. He hasn’t stopped...
Wow, there are a lot of us from FL! Looking forward to much fun, learning and sharing!
