Three hammocks under an Etowa 12x10. That night we had a pretty strong storm, yet we were all nice and dry in the morning.
And yet another NC hanger welcome!
Us Mexicans are bad business people. We'll go from $100.00 to $10.00 in a heartbeat.
You knew I'd find it sooner or later! :D
So far in NC, I haven't found the need for anything bigger than 6ft.
Come on over to the Darkside (Verizon/Droid X).
You wont have any problems here!
I bought this hammock as my "till I can afford something better" rig. Well let me tell you what. I love the dang thing!!!
I sleep very comfortable in it, and like the sarge said "its rooomy".
Here's Three under an Etowa 12' x 10'
If work doesn't interfere, I'm in.
Sad to say my boy got poison ivy on his arm and face. Unfortunately he didn't listen about being careful and paid the price.
Bet ya he wont be careless again though.
Guess I'll move mine here from the other thread.
Here are some pics. Enjoy!
Our set up.
3 hammocks under one tarp....
First of all I would like to say that it was an honor to see old friends, and make new ones. Although we had people from all kinds of states, as well as Canada, it just seemed like one big family...
All packed up, except for coolers and food. Should be there around 1 or so.
I just might sleep in my clothes for tomorrow!!!
BHancock, If its already sold, you can get one at Amazon for $60 shipped.
I did! : )
Highly recommend Hammock Bliss. Not only is it huge, but its very light weight. The netting is attached, and it can be flipped with the net down for a double layer system in the winter. Make sure you...
I use a sunshield for anything below 40 degrees, and what I do is put it between my 2 layer hammock, and use a DIY UQ made from a Walmart sleeping bag under the hammock.
I've never had any...
So far the scariest thing that's happened to me was on my first time hanging.
It was about 2am or so when I felt something brush underneath my hammock. I immediately grabbed my gun, and laid as...
I like how you keep your set up. Its always nice and neat.
Hope to hang with you again some time soon.
How many inches did you add per layer?
Ex 50" inner shell
60" outer shell
Thank you for the information.
Unfortunately my back is fairly wide, and I was wanting to use one for both my son and I. Now that you have provided me with this information, it seems that its not...
I have not ran out of IX yet, but have found it very difficult for the IX to stay tight on the bottom of my hammock, and have not made the DL hammock to know if it'll stay put since its so...
Would somebody please provide some information/pics on how small the GG 41"x 61"x 1/4" thinlght wide rolls/packs to.
I wanted to use it alone as my summer insulation in a DL hammock, however I don't...
My son and I had an awesome time, just wish we could have stayed out longer. Looking at the bright side, there are many more hangs to come. I for one, love to camp at Uwharrie. It just...
Not 100% sure yet, but my son and I will try to make it out there.
I've got the HB Noseeum, and absolutely love it. It's roomy, cheap (if you shop around), and very sturdy.
I made my own skins for it, and have to say that prefer the attached stuff bag instead. It...
Thanks for the video!
Its just awesome that you guys had a good time, and that Josie didn't mind a couple spills. Hope she liked it enough to go out more often once fair weather arrives.
All you need now is some nice and bright Harbor Freight straps to go with it!
I really like it though.
Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one that doesn't care for the cold weather now!
Glad you had a good night sleep, and most of all, seems you had some fun.
Wish you could have posted you were going...
I guess I didn't actually read all the info.
In that case, I'll just bring some Menudo for Friday/Saturday night if anybody cares for some.
Thanks for pointing that out.
No Mac, I was actually shooting for a Saturday lunch.
I'm thinking of buying one of those big grates with legs to put over the fire. You got to figure, 20lb is a lot of chicken, and I don't want...
Hey guys, I'm wanting to bring some seasoned chicken to throw on a grill for a group Saturday lunch, however, all I have is a huge gas grill.
Does anybody have a charcoal grill, or grate to put on...
I made a 72"x48" rectangle, and then cut the bend while it was folded in half like in this picture.
I recently upgraded my suspension to whoopie slings.
I cut my harbor freight straps in half giving me 2- 6' sections.
My question is, how should I stitch the loops on my webbing?
So far, all I did...
Not sure if it's been posted or not, but what does the Crowsnest compress/stuff/pack to?
Another vote for the RC-4 here!
It is a superb everything knife. On top of that, the kydex sheath that it comes with is absolutely bombproof, and has holes for attaching it to something, or...
Thank you for approving my project.
I thought I was the only one that was impressed with the results I got.
As far as the material, I purchased all from a local Hancock Fabrics.
My fleece is...
You actually did see it at the Uwharrie hang, If you look in your pictures, I'm sure you'll find it. :)
Thanks for the kind words guys!
As far as what else I used.
My UQ is made out of a $25 sleeping bag cut in half, so per say, I'm only using half a 45 deg sleeping bag.
I also used a truck...
I unfortunately don't have a scale, sorry.
I'd say between 14 and 18oz.
OK guys, this is my first DIY project, so take it easy on me.
The good thing about my project, is that it actually worked!:scared:
So, without further due, here it is.
What is the closest water source?
I have a 4wheeler just in case we need it. : )
Is there any place up there that I can rent a canoe for the weekend?
I don't have one yet, but plan on buying one soon.
Heck yeah Rice!
I've been wanting to meet you. I tried to make it to your last Congaree hang, but I ended up working the weekend.
Look forward to meet you, among others.
