Parked at RipRap parking lot off of Skyline Drive, and hiked clockwise around the loop. It is a tough climb out on day 2. You can also park at Wildcat Ridge, that was less crowded.

I never thought of putting pad inside quilt, but that is a good idea. My foot pad always slides around, even inside the double layer

Big Mama Jama and 1.75 zing it!

I also use the small figure 9's and 1.75 zing it. I just wrap 2 or 3 times and also tie it off in a loop for good measure. Never had a problem.

Mountain goat snakeskins and figure 9's did the trick for me. I used to get beat up by my tarp anytime there was any wind at all. Makes the take down and packing up process simple as well.

The water source at Campbell's Shelter is about 5 minute walk. It is a good camp site, you can watch sunset from the top and walk down to camp.

Maccat standard works well for my WBBB. Takes some practice to get adequate coverage on the ends, but good tarp.

I agree with Thumbs. Underquilts can be hung to vent, allowing use in much higher temps than rating. If it is too hot, just push off to the side. I have a 20, but would buy a 0 if I had it do over...

I always use an underquilt. If it is very hot, I just rig it to hang low, or push it off to the side. If it is below 70, I get CBS. Pads make me sweat.

I think sewn is the way to go. I guess snap would be better if you were using in warmer temps.

I love my HG Burrow Zero degree. I was always getting cold with a sleeping bag. Have used it up to 40 degrees with no overheating. Very light and it vents well.
