Sounds like a plan I am not a fan of whoppie slings and prefer my straps. I was contemplating a ridge line that was adjustable on the foot end and a "Y" at the head to hold the bug netting up. i want...
As an update I found this thread on insulated hammocks and it appears that the bigest issue is simply accounting for the stretch of the hammock so as not to compress the insulation and reduce its...
I agree WV it will defiantly be an ambitious task to accomplish either one. God only knows how many DIY projects are stored in the building that didn't work the first time and ended up modified in...
I searched out and found that this has been discussed before but I was unable to find a definitive idea that worked. I am looking at building a double hammock similar to the clark vertex (which I...
Well as luck would have it I'm not going to be able to get out of work today or tomorrow so I will have to miss this year.
Thanks for the info as good as verizon is I actually like it when work can't get ahold of me. :)
Off the wall question but does anyone know if there is phone service at the hang site I've got verizon but I need to let work know if I will or will not have service. Thanks
It will just be me this time. Been a rough couple of weeks , just need some outdoor time.
Going to give it a shot for Friday after work and spend Friday night.
That is pretty much what I had found but after exhausting my ability's to search it out I thought I would turn to the knowledge of the forum and for once my final answer was right. LOL
Is there somewhere I can order the following items all from one place?

Id like to get it all one place and save on shipping unless there is a less...

Welcome From upstate SC
Wishing you a delicate treatment cycle and great success in your fight.
That's kinda what I was thinking to do it similar to what I did with the 2 layers of insulation.
That was great!!!
Got to work over tonight for a training class but Friday night I plan to load the suspension in all 4 channels. I need to secure the climashield in the quilt but I haven't figured out exactly how I...
all that was left at this point was to sew it closed. i found this to more complex than i had first thought. While the stitching will hold, it does not look to pretty. LOL

Having a little bit of sewing experience under my belt I opted to slightly modify Eric's version from his Youtube video at CW hammocks. Instead of closing my ends with grograin I opted to sew in...
I sat down to sew the layers together and remembered what wiscoman had posted about the climashiled getting caught up in the foot. I couldnt get a phot of me doing it but i used a clear ruler to hold...
My next step was to lay out my 46" x 60" piece of fabric directly on top of the 2.1 climashiled. I then took my 2 2" strips and used an iron on the low setting to fold them in half which helped a lot...
So here is a start I laid out the 48" x 60" of 6oz Climashield then positioned the 36" x 60" 2.1 ClimashieldI used a hand needle to lightly tie knots to hold the 2 layers in place.

Thanks, will do. I am trying to find a post on how to sew darts in the head and foot because I have no idea how to do them on the machine.
I was thinking the same thing:D
Insulation came in today, a big thank you to OWF for the super fast shipping.. I didn't get a picture of the unboxing I was too anxious to open it LOL. Hopefully Ill be able to start on one quilt...
Ok so I searched around and decided to follow Eric's DIY over at Camping With Hammocks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOAb3qGS38s Following step one fabric is cut and the ends are sealed now I am...
So I've got several yards of ripstop material already and I've made several stuff sacks. I just finished my DIY bug net (didn't take pictures wasn't sure it would work) when I build the second one...
End result I made 2 sets of Whoopie slings and an 2 adjustable ridgeline (we have 2 hammocks) once I get them installed i'll post a picture up.
A huge thank you to Gresh. After a couple nights hanging in the living room wife and I are sold I ordered insulation from Outdoor Wilderness Fabrics this morning. So I'll be starting the DIY...
Welcome to the forum Im only 5'7" so not much help on that side of the discussion but there are plenty of people on here with a wealth of knowledge that can steer you in the right direction.
Welcome to the forum I am relatively new also, but I can assure you there is a wealth of knowledge here....
Another good point i think i am going to go with the continuous loop made of amsteel and larks head the whoopie to it. Regardless its still going to be a weight reduction from the original loop and...
That would be something I hadn't thought of Thanks.
I was originally thinking to build the fixed end of the whoopie on the hammock permanently rather than using the standard way of attachment.
Ok I have no problem with using the larks head, I was just thinking that since my ENO hammocks have a continuous loops that are larks headed in place It got my mind going that I could replace the...
I am making whoopie slings for our enos. I have already made adjustable ridge lines and I am now contemplating permanently attaching the whoopie slings to the hammock. Instead of using the larks head...
Will do thank you again your a life saver.
Gresh you are the man
Were suppose to hit the trail the 17th and be finished by the 23.
Ok I am going out a limb here, I have been made a last minute offer to go on a thru hike of the Foothills trail in 3 weeks. Problem is I am not stocked up for it so its taking some last minute...
Never hurts to ask I did and got surprised with a sure go ahead.
