I found that starting the hem and the long middle part are pretty easy, but getting that last 2' on the curve is the tricky part. Since I do a lot of them, pins are not an option, so mine are all...

I have decided not to offer the binding option on this hammock (unless someone absolutely wants it and asks for it). I think when I first started doing it, I was carrying over a little bit of the...
Sure do. Since I offer free shipping over $10 in the US, whatever it would cost me to ship in the US, I deduct from international shipping.
I use Flickr for my online photo galleries. This link...
Vtrek,
Sent you a PM on this.
Have 2 of the JCP down jackets for DIY projects. Both are still new with tags
Color: Black
Size: 3XLT
$65 for both shipped.
PM me your shipping info and I will get it shipped to you.
I would love to see that as well. Of course, my opinion doesn't count, so I will only relay what has been communicated back to me.
The only feedback I have really received so far on it, has...
I used the cat curve spreadsheet and layed out the points on a long piece of cardboard and then cut out that so I had a template that I could use on my curves. I then trace the curve with sewer's...
I was happy with how it looked this morning when I packaged it up. I made sure to get it to the post office first thing and dropped it off. You should have it in a few days and I hope to see some...
Just to make it official.
Question cleared up.
I'll take it.
Looking for a 0 Degree quilt with at least 800 Fill Power.
I'm 6'1" 180lbs for reference
Doesn't need to be new, but would prefer it to have been taken care of.
I'm interested, but have a question.
If the product line has changed, what are the specifications of the quilt you are selling?
Any pics available? Does it have a footbox?
I'll take the sil & ripstop fabric and the -random lengths of z-line, clips, pulls. etc.

Bought this right before I started making my own hammocks. It has sat unused for over 6 months, and I had forgotten about it until I started cleaning out my gear rack.
New w/o tags
Comes with...
No Pins here. It helps greatly to have the grids lined up correctly on the fabric, so that way you can use the grid to align the panels. I focus on getting that first stitch in the right place,...
Rolled edges would be plenty strong enough. You would want to adjust the depth of the curve to account for the material in the hem.
Grosgrain is generally done on Cat curves as it is a little...
Thanks for everyone's feedback on the Streamliner and my site. I am always willing to listen to suggestions and/or criticism, as it is the only way I can improve my offerings.
I'm new to...
I've bought webbing a few times from Shipper Supplies. When you get a good roll, it is great. However, a couple of times, I've gotten rolls that have had bad areas. Either material along the...
I always find myself needing small sections of shock cord, so I bit the bullet and bought a bulk roll of it off Amazon.
1/8" x 500 ft = $40 shipped
So, my total was .08 a foot
I like that it...
I now have 3 sewing machines. My first was my Mom's spare, so it was free (the best price). It is a Kenmore, probably about 30-40 years old. It is a good machine, but I am a little leery of using...
I've learned so much from Hammock Forums and have saved a ton of money by going the MYOG route, it is a pleasure to give back.
Nice Tip. Probably would have helped me when I first started.
My first stuff sack was a disaster. There wasn't a straight line anywhere.
I still have that sack, though, and use it to keep...
I've got a couple of sets of 6 foot straps. PM me your address and I can get them in the mail tomorrow.
I prefer my tarps not look like they have had seam sealer applied, so I like thinning down the silicone with white gas. Usually in the range of 4-6 parts white gas, per 1 part silicone. Thins down...
I personally like the idea of color coding the two ends. Whether it is with a stopper bead, different color ropes, or anything else you can add to easily identify which end you have by just looking...
At this time all jackets & vests have been claimed.
Glad to be able to help others.
There are 2 Vests left.
XL Blue
2XL Blue
Last chance on these.
For some reason (if someone knows let me know), I can no longer edit the original post to update what is left.
There are 3 Vests left.
XL Blue
2XL Blue
Large Orange
Any takers on what's...
I have a 3XL Jacket in Black and a either a blue or charcoal vest in 2XL. No Talls left, sorry. I've marked them as pending on the main post.
I also sent a PM your way for more information.
I've found them pretty true to size. I generally wear a medium and the mediums fit fine, although a little short in the arms and torso (but I am 6'1" and most jackets are that way).
If you are...
Hairbear,
Don't know if PM was acting up last night, but sent one so I could get your shipping address to calculate total cost. Then I got a blank PM from you, which I responded to as well.

Pat, tried PMing you my email.

You can include your address when you send the paypal funds.
Thanks.
Sorry, I copied and pasted from an old listing I had elsewhere, and forgot to take that part out. I've updated the original post and they are not listed on any other site.
I figured I would post this for those who don't have access to a local JCPenney, in regards to the $14 Goose Down puffer jackets they had.
I picked up a one for myself and a couple for some MYOG...
I've got a "Down" Tent, Shop Vac & Earmuffs. I always hate doing it, but enjoy the $ savings it can bring you.
Great Write Up!
I've got 4 3XLT jackets, so I see a couple of hats in my future.
My thoughts exactly.
A regular stop when I was getting started.
I did an Asym to start with. That way I did not have to worry about any seams.
Hard to stop once you start.
Excellent resource
Didn't have a straight seam anywhere on the sack. I was still so happy I had made something, that I refused to get rid of it. I now use it to hold all my different feet for my sewing machine.
I love working with amsteel and splicing. The only problem I've found is that Amsteel is so tough, that it dulls my knife rather quickly.
I've been using some 14gauge electrical wire I had out in the garage. The ground wire is excellent to use as a fid.
Best thing is that it was free.
Looks great and very solid.
Do you know how much fill is in the JCP jackets? Someone said 2oz.
