I think we are homing in on a universal solution. I am trying to figure out exactly where you sewed the grograine tabs and tied them off. Picture helpful. Logic tells me that it is on th 4 corners by...
The Wookie is so tempting. I see claims that it can be used on other hammocks with some fiddling. Could it be used on the Ridgerunner bridge hammock?
I have the 2nd generation XLT and the Warbonnet bridge hammock. I have used my Yeti on both. It works, but I can't take advantage of the reversible lay on the XLT since it can only be used for one...
So I continue having problems with a spring clip occasionally dislodging and ending up on the ground. Good thing my wife spotted it on the lawn after a yard test or I would have had an unwelcome...
Why not bury the coated twist tie and make the line long enough so you could loop it over the ball? This would eliminate the metal part entirely and arguably make a stronger double wrap connection....
I presume the same connections will be used for joining the base poles. Are you revising the base UCR as well?
So this may help you. The label end measured 25" wide and the non label end measured 30 " wide.
Warbonnetguy: Perfectly clear now. Thanks for your patience..
Runners_low: Just checked my Yeti and it has the beautiful, coveted Warbonnet label on one end.
Also, call me crazy but I have...
Thanks Warbonnetguy,
So this is what I think "lay reverse" means
Normally, the XLC-2 is shipped head left, feet right (LH lay?) The Warbonnet label is by your head. When the standard LH Yeti is...
I agree. It was a last minute trial using shock cords I already had hooked up to my Superfly. Final config will happen when I get my Superfly back from Warbonnet with the Center Pole Mod adding more...
Just for grins while testing, I rigged up my Warbonnet Superfly over my Warbonnet XLC hammock without using tie downs for the Superfly. I just wrapped the ends around and tied to where the lower...
Does it make any difference which end of the poles are up in the air and which are on the ground? Each pole has a 4 section and a 3 section member. So, 4 section down or 3 section down, or no...
Here are the words from the Warbonnet site:
"Note: the Yeti does not have a reversible lay, it is configured for a head left/feet right lay, we can make a reverse lay configuration instead if...
Would this allow the UQP to be zipped to the hammock for a neater look and to avoid the dreaded sit-in-the-UQP mixup?
I recently upgraded my XLC to the XLC-2 so I could take advantage of the ability to reverse the lay from standard LH lay to RH lay, among other improvements. On my first trial, the reversing worked...
Zactly. You cannot deploy the bug net unless you flip it over so the zippers are clear.
My Tensa4 stand arrived yesterday from Warbonnet along with the new style XLC-2 hammock. I set it up in my rec room along with a superfly tarp and slept in it. It worked well. Next going to try my...
Makes sense. Great reply.
I think a typical motorcycle off highway adventure rider can subject a stowed Tensa4 to a pretty abusive environment!
Glad you have a fix on the way. BTW, my recently ordered Tensa4 on the way...
Did that price include the poles?
I assume you also lose the storage shelf if you zip the UQP and Top cover together. Maybe not? By doing this, would you also retain the storage shelf?
I have both the RR and the XLC. I use a Yeti UQ with both. Let me add to the XLC Pro's already stated:
1. Much more weatherproof coverage with my Superfly. The SF ends close completely and it can...
I learned the importance of getting the down just right on a recent trip with about a 35 degree night. My 20 degree Hammock Gear Burrow Top Quilt just wasn't keeping me as toasty warm as it usually...
My Top Quilt is the 20 degree Hammock Gear Burrow. It has a foot box that holds the sit pad in place nicely and is very easy to reposition and get under the lower portion of my legs as I change...
I have an XLC and the 20 degree Yeti. I use Shug's suggestion and use a sit pad with my 20 degree Hammock Gear Top Quilt and have tested it to 23 degrees. I find that I am warm and the sit pad has an...
+1. I am very interested in the cold weather performance and user reports are just starting to show up. I recently was on a trip and used my Ridgerunner and it worked well. However, surprisingly, I...
I use the Byer of Maine Ciera www.byerofmaine.com/ceara-hammock-stand.html that looks similar for both my RR and XLC. It works perfect. It breaks down to very portable pieces for storage or vehicle...
I have a Yeti now and like it. But I use a sit pad on my legs like Shug recommends. My son opined that the difference in weight between a full length UQ and Yeti + sit pad might be a push. He is...
Probably a poor choice of words on my part. It is difficult to describe the tree and geometry in my yard I made this discovery on. The base of the tree is on a lower level on a hillside than the...
As I mentioned in my initial post, my wife measured it while I was setting up my Byers of Maine hammock stand with me in the hammock. It is rated at 400 or so pounds and flexes slightly when loaded....
Agree, sort of.
I think when calculating the loads and stresses, it is always done in the loaded condition. I have found that smaller trees bend a bit when loaded and the geometry changes. I...
I am 5 ft-9 in tall and have an XLC and HG Burrrow 20 TQ. I tuck an REI Sit Pad in the snapped foot as Shug shows. The Yeti shock cord goes over the XLC foot box and the Warbonnet label is at the...
Both my son and I bought one. They are marvels of engineering and extremely capable.
I checked with three different Florida state parks while I was RV camping in Jan-Feb 2016. Before I could even ask, every park said to tie nothing to trees. BUT.. when I said "I guess that rules out...
I tie the end of my shock cord tie downs in a sliding prussic. I loop it over the stakes so that it will come off without launching the stake at me or others. Works great so far.
What I wold like to see is two separating zippers on the XLC, one from head to foot on each side. Each would be the dual zipper type so you could zip open all the way, or open partially. It would be...
One of the major benefits is if the call of nature happens in the middle of the night. With a pad, getting everything re-positioned after getting out is a real pain, even with the pad in a sleeve. ...
Time for an update. I now have a yeti and sleep with it up to my shoulders and down to my knees. The hammock lays completely different using an underquilt than with a pad. It is a much flatter lay....
It did great. I am very satisfied with the cold weather performance. I think my setup and metabolism should be good to the teens. My son tried it last night and was warm at 37 degrees F OAT. He had...
I was thinking the same thing by using my Exped Synmat in the pocket of my WBBB-XLC 1.1 DL to stretch the range of my 20 degree Yeti. It should still allow the UQ to fit nicely against the hammock. I...
The Yeti is amazing. I finally did a cold weather test and was warm all night long. I am 5'9" and the Yeti covers from my shoulders to just below my knees. I used a REI sit pad stuffed in the foot...
Thank you for the kind words.
I think I should be good to at least 20 degrees F, maybe lower. My ace in the hole is that for going to ground, I also carry a very compact, lightweight, but wide...
Finally got cold enough here in the Seattle area so I could test my 20 degree Yeti.

I use an extension line. I think I got a set of the tarp tie downs from REI that are light and have figure 9 adjusters that I seldom use. I prefer a sliding prussic on both the shock cords and the...
The entire tie downs are shock cord. You could use a combination of non-stretching tie downs with the shock cord in line as a buffer, but that is not as versatile. Setting up is a breeze since there...
This was a test setup using some fiberglas poles I had. I haven't used it enough to assess it properly. I need to experiment more with different length dogbones for the pole attachment. FWIW, it...
I tested a few different tie out methods in a severe gusting wind that might give you some ideas. ...
I am thinking of using your new setup with the 6 ft REI tarp poles that I currently use if I have to go to ground while motorcycle camping. They are quite strong and pack shorter than my trekking...
I wonder if something like a Kelty Noahs Tarp might be better for your use. It is heavier that the Superfly, but you aren't packing it. Cheaper too. Then use your lighter Superfly for hiking.
What if you brought a heated water bottle or two inside your hammock with bug net or winter cover?
