sweet! hope it will work well.
they claim the bivy is both waterproof and breathable, but i just bought it and have no experience. but what you say makes a lot of sense re the pitching height and size. i have a small tarp to try...
wow, thanks, this is tempting actually, when i also consider what otter1 wrote... must sleep on it
i have a 11.5 x 4.3 ft piece of cuben fiber, is 4.3 ft wide enough for a summer mini tarp to use with a bivy sack (dont flame me ), or should i cut it in half and glue the two pieces together...
good catch mad, thanks! ... maybe it's a job for mythbusters... they could test on buster :-) it would be great to see hammock related episodes
but to answer the op: 7/64 amsteel for me - ...
recently i made amsteel soft shackles, only 2.1g each. now my sleeping gear is hardware free :-)
i use adjustable grip hitch at the tarp tie-outs and msh at the pegs... my guy lines are 3m and the rl is 10.
Siberian/evenk hitch and adjustable grip hitch for the tarp. Marlin spike hitch for the hammock suspension toggle. Prusiks here there and everywhere. Soft shackles as the icing on the cake. C'est...
I tried the traveler for six weeks this year after using the wbbb and I say go for it. It is great to be able to manipulate the uq from both sides. Also, the wb bug net allows a nicer 180 degree...
1. zeppelin bend
2. siberian hitch
thank you for the review. i am not shopping for an uq atm, but i like these.
i couldn't find the cub on the hh site. is it like a scout? it should work just fine imo.
yes please. a high-tech bamboo stand development! :jj:
balaclava + a beanie pulled down to the eyebrows would do the trick
for australian winters 18lbs is my base weight and that includes the hg winter incubator, the jrb hudson river (both overfilled) and the ogee tarp with the wbbb dl and lots of on-body wool and possum...
when i am hanging under the milky way, it's a space ship and when the mozzies are attacking, a bunker (w/ a bugnet). also when i travel with my gear, my camp is a 5* hotel.
hi goran, welcome to the forums! i have been to croatia many times, mostly to dalmatia. great places.
heh. i have a redback spider in my backyard.
nice try s!
yup, it's karma. you was a seabird in your previous life. so was i. sorry, no photos
thanks for the vid blaze - you have an accurate, but not dry style - it made me look at my existing gear from a new angle.
perseverance! she'll come around eventually :-)
that looks like army grade stuff; handed down from generation to generation ...
the zen of hanging right there
cool bananas mate! that gear was likely made for someone else.
my guylines are 10ft and my ridge lines are 33ft. i think it's the average..
i would hold. thank you for the informative video.
well done video, it was fun to watch!
i took the same path buejeans did with msh on the straps and i am happy with the results and weight loss..
we have paddling, why not bikes? would make hf even more useful.
you become part of the wildlife for a while, but luckily retrieved yourself :) an educational vid!
****! so it's two and only now
bummer! those holes look like made by a stapler to me. brandon will fix you up for sure though... and **** those debilitating import taxes!
yeah, any uq will do w/ bottom entrance. you can carve toggles out of 1" trail sticks. measure all your gear and enter it into a spreadsheet - you'll have a better understanding what to pack... i...
my one and only jrb mw3c in converted mode for sure!
in 2011, in my travels, i saved a ton of cash just by stealth camping / avoiding hotels equaling the cost of *all* of my gear. 2012 will be all lollygagging :D
albeit not in au, but reddenmarine will ship at relatively good prices. that's what i did.
my wm1 purchase last september was partially influenced by this review and the price of course. i picked vg10 ;)
ohh, a floating pool, the non-plus-ultra of comfiness
with bubble bath ...
no rehab for this one! :)
i'm not sure how much stretch a sc prusik would give, it's worth a test, but wrap it at least four-five times i reckon.
do it! for those colours :)
for me it is good to have light gear when you are over 40 and also for getting on overseas flights with only a carry on luggage which is nowadays limited at 7kg... my cf tarp is 4.7oz
i am intensely looking into this, i have plan a (stand) and b (holes in wall) under consideration
for your eyes only.
every time you post this, the thread turns out epic og
how about Si caulk? sticky: http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php?t=2011 hth!
sf, i had this recently, just give them a call (or email) reiterating your proper address... proaction and persistence is the key in dealing w/ bureaucracy. write down when you had your calls, who...
after a year of hanging i have no idea! i didn't had a thermometer until recently... when i can't sleep i always think it's either my own fault in setting up or being too excited for 'being out...
this is like watching hammock history in the making... 'the next generation'
i really liked the intro with the music! looks like kiba is down with hammocks, maybe she earned her own gear by now... and yeah, porterhouse is a basic food group all by itslef
hey blaze that was a good ride! at first i tought you will hang up in that white tower, but your spot was better. i liked the dawn and the freezy bath was heroic! :) 4C, i'll have to try that one...
