Thanks Boomer. Good review.
Welcome from North Carolina!
I just can't justify the weight of the JungleNest. I haven't "fondled" it yet but it just looks heavy and bulky. I could be wrong though.
Nice! Thank for taking the time to do this.
Awesome. Count me in!
Glad to hear that everyone had a great time and stated warm. I hope to make it next year. Looking forward to the rest of the reports.
DOH! I missed out! Maybe next time.
I personally haven't found a way to keep them from freezing but what I've done in the past is to carry a couple of grocery bags and keep boots in those. They'll still freeze but they won't get wet.
I have the breathable. I will be testing mine tonight :)
I find myself watching your latest vid while my wife is in labor! Ha! (Don't worry, she doesn't care and it's in between contractions.)

[QUOTE=dirtwheels;1167531]Looking at Shugs pod videos and latest success (insane -40* adventure) has me wondering about the nuts and bolts of a pod system.QUOTE]
I was wondering the same thing...
The JMT = AWESOME! Thanks for the vid. It was fun to watch.
As someone said in the comments from the vid page on Youtube: "Sector 7 just froze and fell off." HA! Good stuff. 18 minutes of pure unaldulterated shivering. for sharing.
Wowza! That's cold! My lowest was -10. That's pretty dang cold for a NC boy.
Oh, and you're right about just getting out and having fun. Obviously you have to make sure you don't die in those...
This. Looks. Awesome. Will definitely try! Thanks!
I'm in! Thanks!
HAHAHA! That's awesome! Thanks for the laugh!
I gotta say...I get up to pee. I'm clumsy as it is and I don't need pee all over me in the middle of the night.
When it's raining at night I've been known to kneel down under the tarp and pee out...
Oops. Here's the link.

+1 on what SHUG said. I also would use any type of scotchguard product (for tents, water proof jackets, etc.). Also a product i would use alot is NikWax TX-Direct Wash In. The link is posted below. ...
I too have some of his gear. I have a 1/2 underquilt rated to 20 degrees with 2 oz of overstuff. The only issue i've had with the UQ is that the channels are sewn small. It was crazy hard getting the...
Negative on a few years. I won't be able to wait that long. Unless there is a baby on the way next year this time, I will be there.
DANG! I was hoping to be able to get to go to this one this year. I wasn't able last year and was looking foward to meeting all of the regulars. Can't go cause baby #1 is on the way Jan 24th!!!! I'm...
I need $$$$$$. Sigh. Tis the season for hanging anyway!
Oh and can someone explain the spreader bar thing that was mentioned earlier. Thanks. (N00B)
53893anyone know how to fix the net from just bunching up in the middle? I am in my garage so that the main problem. I have no trees/lamp posts/cars to hang from.
You're right. I just got it in the mail and once I hung it up I too found out what their website was talking about. Derrrrr. Thanks anyway.
Yukon's website said you can flip the hammock over when you don't need the net. I'm assuming you would just lay on the net. Anyone ever do this? I figure the net could get nicks in it from zippers/...
I picked one today! I got the bug net version. I can't wait to try it out!
I saw this on his store too. It looked great until I saw how much it weighed. In my personal opinion you can do better. Woot.com has a Yukon Outfitters hammock for $20 and the hammock with bug net...
Woot.com has the Yukon Outfitters Double Hammock for $20 today. You have to HURRY though because they're having a Woot Off (after the item sales out they go to a different item). You're welcome.
Welcome from NC! It's an addiction. Beware!!!
Ah. I am having the same problem and a newbie so any info you get will aid me as well.
Welcome to the forums from North Carolina!
Looks epic indeed. Good luck!
Welcome. I'm from just over the line in NC.
Cool deal! Count me in! Thanks.
I am a newbie but I have a hammock and underquilt. I need/want a tarp. I'm still using a blue walmart tarp. PM me to offer me a good deal :)
Awesome! I have the 3/4 length torso underquilt. A top quilt will definitely be ordered in the future. Thanks for this awesome service. Have already mentioned your website to several friends of mine.
Doctari: Are you sure you didn't just sweat in the rain pants? It is easy to do and not know it. It doesn't take much exertion under a load to sweat.
Oh, and I'm glad you're alive and well
Dang. I've got to attend next year. I'm new to hammock camping but not to backpacking. Looks like you all had a blast. Now that's the kind of weather I live for. My first trip to Roger's was a balmy...
Welcome to the resistance! Viva La Resistance!
Very nice. I did mine differently but like your method better. I will definitely change mine.
Thanks.
Awesome man! I have searched and searched on how to make a whoopie sling but I haven't found anything that has made this much sense. Thanks for this. This will make it much easier for me.
I second @Roloff. I stumbled upon JustJeff's page and was intrigued. I bought an Eno Hammock because that's what I was familiar with and then stumbled upon Shug's YouTube page and fell in love with...
Ooooooooo. I. MUst. Have. Some. Of. These!
I have got to try this. I am going out on my first trek in the hammock soon to Mount Mitchell here in NC. Good info to know.
