Dutch: "A little bit longer than usual"
I couldn't help grinning at that, as I was sitting here thinking that the jacket is about 4" - 6" too short. The arms look short as well, and I'm one of...
"(The) Dreamer"
"Cloud 9"
"SideZip"
"SkeeterBeater"
I like to be drifting on cloud nine ;)
Nope! He's found a way to make a portable black hole for easy storage of everything, including the kitchen sink. Comes in black, black and black and is easily adjustable.
Simple toggles are actually easier to use than the buckles. Adjusting the length using a toggle is a snap, whereas the buckle will require more patience.
On the other hand, if you are an OCD-type,...
It is used to keep your nose in an upright position. This insures optimal aeration, while sleeping.
Ignorance - what else?
It looks like getting on kickstarter was an inspired move. Hope it works out, without getting swamped in orders. Best of luck, Dutch.
Y'all may want to take a look at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/703694747/chameleon-hammock-by-dutchware
Yup. There are even places where it's already Tuesday
Different perspectives. My wife would love it, while I prefer muted colors.
I looks like Dutch has taken features from several other hammocks, like those from Dream Hammocks, combined in new ways, thrown in some new ideas, and, with a little magic, transmogrified it all into...
Anyway, I really like the way the net is left open, in contrast to how PapaSmurf does it. It leaves you with a view, in stead of looking at the fabric. I like the way the netting can be folded back...
Chameleon: an animal that can change it's appearance.
Well, "Ralph", I don't think that you'd be so evasive if it wasn't. I ken you'd otherwise come up with the facts.
A hyping campaign worthy of MicroSoft. At least it isn't software (softweave,...
Interesting design :shades:. I really like the way the cover leaves the net open.
Coupled with the other glimpses we've been shown, the Chameleon is beginning to look like a must-have. Consider me...
I thought about going that way myself, but wanted to keep my non-winter weight low - when you focus on weight, an ounce here and an ounce there adds up.rather quickly. I shortly (very shortly,...
Use a pair of Dutch biners
I have tree straps with buckles, whoopies with hooks and the hammock has CL. I often skip the whoopies and use just the straps, but use the whoopies for longer reach and thicker trees.
We kind of get that ;)
It will be some time before I can afford additional gear, but something like a 0 burrow is high on my wishlist
There are a lot of minor trails throughout the country, with camping sites/shelters along the route. Also the coast, by law, has to be accessible for all, and we have a rather long coast line.

Yep, that's what I got.
I asked HG if 2 Oz overstuff would convert a 40*F quilt to a 30*F quilt. The answer I got was yes, and a suggestion that I request to have it built as a 30*F quilt when...
Precisely! As mentioned earlier, I often find myself not needing my whoopies in new growth (i.e.: thinner trees, closer together), but they are always in my bag, when I go hanging, as most of the...
Flexibility, better reach. Sometimes, if the trees are close, I skip the whoopies and attach the loops over the buckles/toggles. 6' straps allows me to hang from big trees in old growth , while the...
My own suspension is clips, straps, buckles, whoopies, hook, loop. Very versatile and easy to use. I am, however, considering dumping the buckles in favor of simple toggles, as I find the toggles...
2 Oz, plus I had it sewn as a 30 quilt, as suggested by HG
Finally had the funds for an underquilt, an Incubator 30 (40 with extra stuffing) and, wow, it is nice :boggle:
Someone is going walkabout, real soon now
No more suspension by the ears? ****!
I'm wondering if there is a decent underquilt on the market, that has fabric in Marpat WL as an option. Something in the 40˚F to 20˚F range.
I'm drooling over PapaSmurf's creations :boggle:...
The string around the suspension only works for (some of the) water running on the surface. What you are experiencing, may be wicking, i.e. water seeping through the suspension lines.
The best...
Many years ago, I dropped in on my sister unannounced :scared:. As there were no extra beds, I had to sleep in a hammock, which was my luck. It was the perfect way to sleep in a hot, humid climate,...
