Is shipping included? Pm sent BMBH.
Still issues. That sucks! Small business is hard enough without some hacker taking you down. The Jacks deserve better.
My cuben zpacks tarp at first had just a sewn ridge line. I seam sealed it but the lateral tension of staking opened the thread holes and water could get through. Joe then taped it for me and...
FYI, HC is a she, not a he.
Wow. That's a beast! Clever how they use the poles on the outside to get the spread.
No problem, I was going to try for setting it up tomorrow. I'll post some pics if I do.
FWIW, the plastic pole end protectors I found work really well and eliminate all sharp edges from...
BB58, the tarp $$ is north of a stock Zpacks tarp given that it's 10' wide, which is wider than standard cuben width. It required three panels and two seams, which I had Joe at zpacks both tape and...
Have used a JRB 11x10 tarp with much success on my JRB BMBH. I usually use the Baker Hut setup, in all but the absolutely worst weather.
Just received a Zpacks custom cuben 11x10 with side...
Just spent the weekend under a custom 11x10 zpacks cuben tarp. Excellent quality. Suggest BOTH taped and sewn seams as the sewn is strong enough but requires full strength silnet to fill holes...
Early winters brings back memories of my growing up in Seattle in the Magnolia neighborhood very near The store on Queen Anne Avenue. Had an EW gortex rain suit. 1983 as posted was the year I got...
Found on. This thread is closed. Thx!
Forecast is for rain all day Saturday through Saturday night. Thunderstorms at times. I have been at Gathland in weather like that and it was dramatic, to say the least. It rains so hard there the...
The funny thing is I often end up going to my backup's backup to get a project complete . . . Plan A sometimes works, Plan B never works and Plan C usually gets her done!
Interested in buying a Backcountry Boiler in reasonable condition. Please PM if you are interested in selling yours.
Thanks,
Roger

For those interested in an "informal" hang ( as in bring all your own food/beverages, no raffle or scheduled activities other than "hanging out" and shared adult beverages around a shared campfire),...
here's another thread about a couple of local MD gatherings in the works.

I went deep down the SS rabbit hole and agree with earlier post that there is quite a bit of fiddle factor with the SS. It worked well for me as long as I was into fussing around.
I found the pad...
I'm off that weekend (for now) and have in mind to make it up to Gathland on Sat afternoon for an overnight.
I'll keep an eye here (and post) as to how the weekend is shaping up.
How is your schedule looking?
I can't do either of those due to my on-call schedule. Can you push out one weekend to June 10-11 at Gathland?
I have only had JRB quilts, both the Hudson River and No Snivler. Got them after meeting Pan at the MAHHA hang.
Never though I'd use the NS as a serape but for coffee in the hammock I am a...
I'd be up for it if the dates work out. We'd be hard pressed to beat Gathland, site of the MAHHA fall hang, although I'm sure there are other good spots people may suggest.
Unfortunately going to have to miss this . . . Traveling to the UK for a long weekend visiting my brother and trying for a glimpse of Royal Wedding festivities for my wife and pints of Guiness for...
This works well day and night

Great fun. The tastiest cup of cocoa ever!
It's not down south but Gathland State Park where Happy Camper hosts the MAHHA hang does come to mind as a spot with all the desirable amenities.
Your current base weight seems pretty light. And 12 oz including suspension for your current rig strikes me as super light.
I think you may be challenged to get a BMBH that light, but . . . for...
The intro was just killer, Shug!
Thanks for the laugh.
Love the double BlackRock hats!

Used a couple to extend a tarp guy line this past weekend. Make sure you are using smaller size cord since paracord is too large to fit in the end slots.
Welcome to the forum. Your pics are classic . . . I had forgotten about my mesh string hammock in Boy Scouts. I don't remember being cold but we were younger then!
See you around.
Wow, looks very nice!
I removed the straps from my BMBH and replaced with whoopie slings. I then used the straps as tree huggers (with sewn in loops repaired) along with Dutch clips to complete the suspension. Easier...
Ordered! That now makes six (6, not "sicks" but I'm starting to think I have a problem . . . ) JRB quilts that will be hanging in my gear room. 2x HR and 2x MW3 for three season for my son and I. ...
Beautiful workmanship.
I am trying two JRB MW3's layered together for a 20 degree hang tomorrow night. Pan advises hanging the outermost quilt low enough to not compress the quilt next to the hammock but not so low you...
Pass. Thx tho.
Lol. Classic.
Knotty,
I tried a JRB Driducks poncho with Weather Shield mod under my MW3 this past weekend. Temp 34 at the lowest and a slight breeze off the river.
I had an unusual case of CBS.
My...
Pan,
I use a Long HR which works well, but still struggling to get into the 20's. Added the fleece liner, which helps alot but is a bit cumbersome. Would also like to lose some clothing in the...
Knotty, that looks sweet. Nicely done.
Bigfoot2, I'm trying to PM you about the dry ducks weather shield but your pm box is full and not accepting any new messages. So, pm "sent" via thread reply on the dry ducks weathershield, please...
Every great company deserves some big press from time to time. My experience with you has been GREAT! So, you DESERVE it!
Congratulations, and stay humble . . .
Nice video . . . Well paced . . .the music is a nice touch.
Way to go! Very cool indeed.
Messing with my hammock gear that becomes my son's hammock gear so I have to learn about then aquire new hammock gear. I now have two BMBH's with complete quilt sets . . . .we are hanging this...
The Svea . . .old school!
Thanks for sharing . . .makes me want to dig out my old optimus hiker stove.
Please comment on the pots you are using with the bush buddy and the svea, they look to be...
It strikes me that the technology being developed within the hammock community is the "tip of the spear" for future technology development. People like the Jacks, Dutch, grizz, 2Q and Opie are...
I have been into the twenties with my augmented SS. By "augment" I mean space blanket in place between the hammock and the OCF pad and a 15 degree rated Sierra Designs sleeping bag. I wore...
