yep, heat sickness can be from mineral depletion. Sweating out your electrolytes with out replacing them. Salty snacks, a multivitamin, and some sports drink mix could potentially help. you could drown yourself in water, and still cramp up.
There's something to be said about having a bottle of pedialyte in the car, or camp on hot trips just in case.
