UQ Gap caused by Calf Ridge - Suggestions

Did some playing out in the yard today since I seemed to have issue with cold drafts in the foot end of my Yeti UQ on the last trip. Had my son take a photo with me in the hammock. I didn't realize that the small calf ridge digging into the back of my calf was causing a small gap in the UQ seal. Any ideas on how to get rid of that calf ridge or to make the UQ seal better on the foot end? While I didn't have my foot pad in, I'm not sure it would make that much difference as it goes inside my TQ. This is a WBBB 1.1 DBL, btw.

Very interesting. I think this may be exactly what was happening on my Dutch Argon and Greylock 3 last night! My back was toasty but I had cold spots under my upper legs.

Sorry man, I never really fixed it, so I can't help. I did try cinching up the cord at that end though.

Pm me your address. I have plastic ridgeline quilt hooks that will cure that. It will make the quilt lift up and not out. I will send you a pair for free.

The Yeti should have down baffles on the ends to prevent air through that small gap. You need something under your feet for sure. Slip a pad inside your TQ and I think you fare much better.
    Carry forth....

Shug: I think in some cases the gap gets deeper than the baffle, at least when I lay a certain way. If I could reduce that gap, I think it would seal better. Just not sure how to make that happen. Any ideas?

Try taking the suspension and wrapping it a time or two around the whipping on the one side of the footend away from your feet (gap side) that may bias it towards the foot and get rid of the gap.

I'm sure my gap is even worse, but I rarely have a problem. I'll agree and say it's the baffles doing their job!

had the same issue pointed out this last weekend on my DIY UQ - ended up looping the end bungee over my ridgeline - did not fix it properly

Dutch -how does pulling the UQ up change the issue of the gap being in the hammock not the UQ?

Try adjusting how you hang the hammock. I found I could eliminate my calf rdige by adjusting how high I hung my foot end.

I think that may be the solution. It just doesn't seem to me that pulling the UQ up more is going to help with it spanning that gap. The gap needs to be eliminated or at least reduced. There seem to be a myriad of solutions, but one common suggestion is to hang the foot end of the hammock at least 6 inches higher:
