I use a 10 inch bury and a single line friction knott
I will try to get some pictures up soon. I will say that these were much easier to tie than regular prusiks and they simplify the setup since the eye only needs to be tiny and the bury on the eye can be used as part of the knott so It does not add a great deal to the minimum length.
Generally what I do is on takedown I move the UCR to the longest possible configuration. Then on setup I set the prusiks and when the hammock is where I want it, I pull the tail through and milk it down. We have 5 sets of UCR suspensions like this now in the family, they are great.
I agree that the weight penalty is not much for a full WS but I personally feel that A, the chance of the loop slipping on the toggle is higher with WS and with 13 ft of Amsteel I get a 10 ft UCR instead of a 5.5 ft WS. although the weight penalty is not much more, it is great that I can get 1.5+ suspensions out of the same line I would use for WS suspensions. With 6 hangers in the house suspension changes become costly
