I have lifted 1700 pounds with a Dutch Biner and all that happened was the part flexed until the spring gate hit the latch. I can lift 1000 pounds and still operate the spring gate. Actually, the website as tomsawyer222 gave, http://www.ems.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3717877
show those Black Diamond 'biners weighing 36grams (not the 22grams Dutch stated). I'm thinking Dutch may have been thinking of the Camp Nano 23 that weigh 23grams) http://www.camp.it/EN/template01.aspx?codicemenu=71
Either way, neither can match the "gramweenie" weight of the Dutch Biner!
