Ok last report on this multi-quilt... slept in the backyard last Saturday in 28F, light breeze. I was wearing 3 drifit shirts (long sleeve, sleeveless, and short sleeve) and a fleece vest. Running pants and some zip-off hiking pants. Hat. Socks.
BlackCat tarp rigged in winter mode, staked directly to the ground. I used my KickAss Potomac underquilt with the JRB Stealth underquilt as an inner layer, Sock/Pod zipped closed. Multi-Quilt was my top quilt.
I slept like a baby. I woke up once or twice, but was warm so I went on back to sleep. I got chilly once, and realized that a breeze was blowing into the hole left in the footbox, since I didn't cinch it completely closed. I stuck my foot there to block the heat loss, and warmed back up. When I woke up for good (neighbor started his leaf-blower at 8:00am). I felt that satisfaction that you get when you've made something yourself that worked exactly as you needed it to. Very nice.
