For local car camping, Valens Conservation is a great winter location because there are vary few patrons from November to March, its usually just us, a few RV year-rounders and the staff. We started getting out once a month last winter and have gained a reputation for being “Those Hammock Guys”. Lots of inquiories about the gear but no converts that I know of. There was a group of tenters this weekend giving the winter camping experance a try but they brought air matterestes instead of suitable insulation, we tried educating the Lads but they were already commited to a fridged night, thankfully Valens offers a bailout as they maintan heated bathrooms throughout the winter.
