I don't really see any improvement of that design over a Dutch Clip. I mean, they look cool, but do they do anything better? Probably holds the webbing a bit more securely in place when not under a load than the DCs. But, built-out strong enough for our needs, I bet that design would weigh a bunch.

The load locker is designed to cover a backpack insurance. It is easy to operate (even with cold fingers or gloves or mittens) and a secure closed position. Further, this piece buckle clog with snow or ice.
