I haven't had a chance to video the variation I did but I'll try to describe it.
I did this with a footbox hammock, since the footbox makes a high side. On the highside I sewed a rectangle of bug net the entire length. The net is uncut. Roughly 58-60" or whatever this stuff comes in.
I then took the two hanging corners and tied them in knots. I attached a length of shock cord to the two knots, tying them together with about 1.5ft between them.
The now tied together corners ride up to about half the hight of the high side. I get in the hammock, and toss the net over the ridgeline. Then I grab the shock cord from inside the hammock and, reaching over the edge, push the shock cord underneath me and past my butt.
The result is that the pressure of the shock cord pulls the net up the opposite side, and I have myself fully wrapped in.
To get out I just grab a handful of net and pull it back until the shock cord rides far enough underneath to pop up on the near side, and just toss the net back over the ridge line.
