Exactly! This is all pressure treated wood, so it should last a long time. Once the wood drys out a bit, I will spray a couple of coats of Thompson's water seal on it to preserve the wood.
That is a 10 x 12 tarp on it in that picture. With the 2" x 6" x 8 ft bottom rails on this stand, there is ZERO wobble when you get in to, or out of the hammock or move around in it as well.
This setup feels as solid as hanging a hammock between 6+ inch diameter trees.
The triple bottom braces really stabilize the entire stand quite well, and there's no mid section give or creaking when it is being used either.
Overall I am very impressed with the design.
I have a WBBB 1.7 DB hammock that I am going to test hang on it this weekend and see how it performs with the stand. I have no doubt that it will be a perfect match for a little bit of impromptu "yard camping" on demand.
