The hammocks of today that are asymetrical are allot better than the hammocks of yesteryear.I can only speak from experience about my Blackbird and Traveller, that i can lay almost perfectly flat in them. I know from seeing other folks posts on HF that the same can be true of some Hennessy's etc. It seems that people go for the Clark's because its an all in one package and their happy with that. Most folks tho seem to get a hammock from here and a tarp from there and underquilts from yet another. It all works and almost all of it fits together. You will be happy with the quality from any of the vendors whether it be Warbonnet, Hammock Gear, Jacks r Better, so don't worry about that. I bought the Blackbird sight unseen because of my location and new that is was a very popular hammock and if i didn't like it it literally sells on HF in about an hr. I got a tarp from OES,,UQ from Warbonnet and top quilt from Jacks R better. I'm happy with all of it and it all fits together. There are cheaper hammocks but it seems that folks trade up after a while. The advantage of Warbonnet stuff is you can get a hammock, tarp and underquilt all in one stop. If your just going to use it for summer than you could use some CCF for under insulation but it is not as comfortable as an UQ. Figure out which Blackbird would fit your size,,if your about 200-210 than a db1.1,,,if your 250 than a db1.7. Keep an eye on the for sale part of the forum as they come up but are gone very quickly.
So now your totally confused,,,,it will all come together,,,,don't worry.
