One of the reasons I am asking is that I have a fairly expensive Patagonia Rain jacket made with their so-called best breathable material. The material is:
"2.7-oz., 2.5-layer, 50-denier ripstop nylon with a waterproof H2NoŽ HB (highly breathable) barrier; DelugeŽ DWR (durable water repellent) finish".
The jacket I made from DWR ripstop blows this jacket away for breath-ability.
I'll bet DWR is multiple times as breathable as this stuff.
