Just to be sure we're on the same page, by skin-out, you mean everything for the trip including food, fuel, and water on the scale, and you naked (but not on the scale, of course!), the weight is 11 pounds, right? That's impressive!
I can't figure out how I can get a skin-out weight that low, even with my current ground setup, (never mind my current hammock) which is pretty light at 4.5ish pounds for a complete 2 person setup, including full bug protection ground pads and 2 person synthetic 45deg quilt. While my base weight with my ground setup is 7ish pounds for everything minus food, fuel and water, by the time I add 6 days of food and 2 or 3 liters of water (good water sources are tough to find on my local trails, owing to farm and industrial runoff, so it's common to carry 2 to 3 liters between good sources, often nearly all day), I end up at about 24ish pounds (skin-out). Even if I went with a Cuben tarp, Cuben bug net, and down instead of synthetic quilt, I'd still be 21ish pounds. With my current Hennesy ULB's and JRB top and bottom isnulation, I'd be at 28ish pounds.
How do you get your skin-out so low? What food does that include? What's your hammock setup??
