Putting hot water in it then sliding it into a ziplock bag then into a sock then put it in your hammock with you will really make a difference. Also and I don't know if they have them in the stores yet for Fall, but pick up some of those chemical hand warmers that hunters use. I really like them in my pocket and then I put them in my socks after I get in my hammock! Feels Soooooo Gooooood!!!!
Good advice. Also, the plastic type nalgene bottles work just fine too. I've even used gatoraid bottles with no problem.
Putting them in a gallon ziplock bag for extra security is not a bad idea. I've done that quite often myself.
Main thing is to make sure the lid is on good & put it in a sock or anything that will keep your skin from making direct contact w/ the very warm bottle.
