I use similar stuff for my whipping knot. Can't see it not working for a solomon bar.

What are you using to make the soloman bar? Will zing-it or the Marshalltown mason line work?

I use braided mason's line, but that is just what I happen to have. I think any line would do as long as it is able to be tied without loosening up or at least maintaining the friction you want after being tied.

I made 2 different ones. I tried the soloman bar, and just didn't like the way mine came out. It was tight and worked, but I just didn't like the looks of it. The second one I made a series of over-hand knots, the first on the front, the second on the back, repeat. I finished it with a square knot, then melted the ends. I used Zing-it for both.
