From what I understand, it's actually better to use Tyvek tape for hems/ seams/ attachment points. I didn't have any, but I have a sewing machine and thread, so that's what I used.
I picked up some of the #0 S-Biners today at Gander Mountain. Suprisingly, they're easier to find than mitten hooks, and possibly a little easier to work with in windy conditions.
I haven't quite decided which way I want to go with the tie-outs that go on the outside of the tarp. I'm leaning towards a 7 foot length of shock cord on each side, connecting the two ends together, rather than an individual piece of cord for each door. It'll keep the weight/ bulk down a little. I'll try out a few different ways, and report back how they work out.
I'll take some pics of them fully pitched this weekend at the Ohio Hang...after I get my signatures on them, of course
The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps!
