What is the total weight of the cuben sack, line, biner, & stake bag(empty)?
Again, excellent engineering!
I stopped using stripped para cord years ago. It had a tendency to stretch on me as I was trying to lift a heavy load.
The cuben sack is 25 grams, the line is 18 grams for 50', the biner is 2 grams, the stake bag is 3 grams, and the bone knot is 4 grams. Total is 52 grams, which is 1.83 ounces. That said, I've got an idea to carry 2 bone knots since they make a great hand hold for raising the bag and they are easier to get on and off than a stick on a marlin spike hitch. That way I can put one on there and pull it until I get it up as high as I need it, then jump the bones one over the other until I walk up to where I want to make the final placement. I'll practice this and see if it works out better. So if you carry an extra bone, that would be 56 grams, or 1.98 ounces.
I'm also going to paint them bright orange or something. It is hell finding one when you drop it in leaves.
