Scoutmaster for troop 7328, Arizona. We're in the middle of making hammocks with built-in bug nets for the entire troop. I'm a little upset now that there is no sewing merit badge!
A HUGE THANK YOU to Randy/Papa Smurf who sourced our materials. We're hoping to have our first hanging next month.
Former Scoutmaster for troop 1102 in Virginia where we converted the entire troop to hammocks after a heavy rain "floated" the tenters in the highly-impacted camp site. The three hangers enjoyed the shrieking from the comfort of our nests.
On a side-note, I'm glad to hear the feedback on the alcohol stove issue. I was near cursing when I read that new policy, but upon closer inspection I can see that I can still use several of my alky stoves that are commercially made. I appreciate the insight, "while not recommended, it is not yet prohibited outright."
