Well, it looks as if this project is a "go." I'm off to JoAnns this weekend for some tulle. That will be my prototype material.
I've made other style bugnets from tulle with the intension of replacing the "prototype" with more durable fabrics, but my tulle bugnets are still going strong after a year.
I would stay away from tulle. Mine has been torn and patched three times already. I'm going to diy a hammock and make another Fronkey net with no-see um. Also, on my GTUL, I had an abundance of netting that hung to the ground. This time I'm going to do Fireinmybones' mod to save money and extra netting. The DIY gear supply netting is only 54", but I plan to sew a 6" piece of ripstop around the bottom edge and sew my shockcord channel in that. I believe this will do two things. Snug up better around the bottom of the hammock and make it easier to cinch the shock cord.
