Like any new idea aimed at a particular market, the next step is to field test it, tweak it, field test again, tweak again, until you have a production model. Take a video and post it once you are ready for orders.
When I first read your post, my initial thought was, why are you worried about being copied? Good ideas are worth being copied. Look at how many auto manufacturers and vendors there are. At one time the gathered end hammock style was "new and different" for the camping community. Now, several companies, cottage industries, and DIYers make this type of hammock. And that early design remains quite viable, yet it has evolved as well. Same thing for quilts. There are several vendors here that sell quilts with very similar designs. I'm not aware of any patent on a particular design of TQ or UQ (please correct me if I'm wrong). There is room for several vendors with similar designs.
If you think the hammock community needs your idea, and you can sell it at a profit for your business, then go for it. Do your homework. Get all the kinks worked out. Then share it.
