Anybody made a UQ from this down yet?
I am trying to calculate how much down I need for a 30 degree quilt.
45" x 60" x 2.5" loft = volume of 6,750 sq. inches.
I have never seen an UQ in person. I think a lot of people on their first DIY UQ are doubtful there will be enuf insulation. Thats where I am now and I want to put all 16 oz into it.
Then there are people like MAD777 who try to convince me a total of 2oz of down or some other crazy low number is OK.
6,750 / 425 FP = 15.75 oz
6,750 / 500 FP = 13.50 oz
6,750 / 550 FP = 12.25 oz
6,750 / 800 FP = 8.50 oz (I know its not 800 FP)
I know we will never have the true Fill Power, but has anyone made anything yet and able to report on loft / oz ratios?
