Is there and ideal height off the ground for the WBBB?
Assuming yes what is the related ideal spread?
I just ordered a BB
, so I have no experience hanging yet, I do have a metal hammock stand which has hooks that are 168"(14foot) x 48" (4foot).
I saw Mustardman just posted pics of his bridge hanging from a similar to my metal stand.
he looks to have hooked the suspension loops directly to the stand.
I understand that this may not work with the BB like it did on a bridge.
Does any one have any thoughts or advice for me?
I've been developing a backyard stand and scaling it down to minimal height and length for my Blackbird which has been working well but in the process of reducing the distance the swing of the hammock is also effected. Compared to a typical tree hang with a 12' to 15' spread which gives a nice long slow swing, my shortened up stand is approaching 9 1/2' the swing is much shorter and faster, not really a deal breaker but something to be considered. My attachments are at around 55" high in this pic and around 10 1/2' spread. I've since moved the attachments closer by a nearly a foot and adjusted the supension to get more tension on the ridgeline. This stand knocks down with no tools and fits in a lawn chair bag.
