well....as a mason. I"m sure I know a bit about mason's line. There are several kinds but the "good" braided line might be worth trying. I've got some around the shop somewhere. I usually just use the cheap masons line and it's really not "braided" per se. Both lines do stretch quite a bit though. That's why we use them. The stretch factor keeps the line taught. That's a good thing when laying brick and block.
Gander Mountain has a pretty good fishing section. I guess I could check with them.
The line I bought with the nine's attached becomes much more bulky when you figure that the Old Man Winter has 14 attach points.
