I try to wipe mine down with a microfiber towel. Last year on the Colorado hang I wiped the top side. I got in a hurry and did not wipe the bottom. Put it in the skins and in the bag in the pocket of the pack. Pocket was wet on the way out on the last day. I took it out of the pack and put it in the back of the pickup. When we got home after an eight hour drive there was a wet spot on the truck bed. I weighed the tarp before hanging it to dry. After dry I took the second weight. It lost more than a pound of water.
That did not count what was lost in the pack and truck bed.
From that experience, I try to take the time to get it as dry as I can.
