In my part of Missouri it's got to be down in the 30's and 40's to use my BIAS hammock without a net. My son likes net all the time; likes the sense of security it provides. I LOVE the open feeling and being able to sit in a hammock with a leg off each side, like a lounger. I hate bugs though and there are so many ticks, flies, skeeters and spiders that I would never be comfortable with out a net most of the year. Even last week it warmed up to the 60's and there were some bugs out although no skeeters so I still left the bug net at home. My first hammock was a Hennessy with the integrated bug net so if that was the only one I had, I wouldn't worry about it.
