Yeah, so you're not even going to Portland before you head towards the mountain, infact you're going to the east of it which is better and will save you time.
Link to map takes you to government camp (12 miles away from clear lake). You're looking at under 4 hours for the trip from seattle to destination. LOTS of lodging now near government camp or even in the sandy area. I'd just get it done on Friday or do an early start on Saturday.
