Is this a car camping trip, or are you packing every thing in? If weight and bulk are no object, you could probably rig something up with extra sleeping bags/pads etc. Another thought--in Ed Speers book "hammock camping" he teaches that when its just too darn cold to hang , its better to go to ground and be comfortable. I've been on hammock trips where its way too cold for my gear----its not a fun experience. As I'm sure you know, hammocks can be alot colder than sleeping on the ground-------be careful!
