I think the 108 x 108 overlay has a SEAM in it. If you look carefully at the picture HERE
, you can see that it's not one continuous piece of fabric, it's pieced together. Just be aware, so you're not disappointed. Good luck!
P.S. Black is the most transparent color in my opinion.
P.P.S. Re-reading your original post, it sounds like you're figuring on using the fabric as 54 inch wide yardage. This is indeed a good price for that much yardage!
I love polyester organza as a bugnet because it's drop-dead bug-proof. NOTHING can get through it, not even gnats or no-see-ums. It weighs LESS than no-see-um netting and I find it easier to sew and MUCH stronger than tulle. Tulle rips easily and you really have to baby it in the field. Polyester organza is tough stuff.
On the other hand, the price of this toughness and bug-proofness is that it does block a lot of breeze also. If you're in a very hot environment, it'll really be very warm. But, for me, that's okay. I'm never camping somewhere that's THAT hot at night. ANY bug net I have--no matter what the design--is going to be out of polyester organza because I'm REALLY AFRAID of bugs!
