Thanks to all of you who replied to my question about sleeping arrangements with my Standard Poodle while hammocking. When I wrote my question, Fleur was going to have to go with me. Then arrangements were able to be made to have her be with my daughter in New Mexico for the duration. Then that had to fall through a couple of days ago. It is good to come back to such thoughtful suggestions. Right now I am going to try to get a cuben tarp that will give both of us space that will help the situation. I will keep her tied to me with her leash, which will enable me to know what she is doing, especially if she becomes concerned about something. I will provide something for her to sleep upon that does not absorb water. Still looking into that. Previously with another Standard Poodle, we slept in our Stephenson
2R. When it was very cold, we both shivered through the night. That problem was alleviated entirely when I bought her a women's size S fleece
top, which she wore at night. I am glad that she will be with me. I wish she could sleep in my Speer hammock, but it doesn't seem that is feasible. We will have a good time, but I do not kid myself that it will be MY hike. Now, if the snow and ice will depart from SW Virginia, we will get out there to test our plan.
