The NCT side really dosent have much scenery, the MRT side is much better. And there really arent too many good spots (with water available) on the NCT side to camp as well, aside from the northern termius. You can still point to point on the MRT side. Start at either Red Bridge, Seaton Creek or the Marilla trailheads, there are a lot of nice campsites along the MRT side, not to mention some great outlaw (stealth) sites.
But if you do decide on the NCT side, take lots of water you will be in a dry camp most likely. There are a few steep climbs, and a lot of ups and downs the the draws and hollers. There is a decent site at Red Hill that is a few miles from Red Bridge. I would recomed starting at the Marilla trailhead if you decide to head there.
